For memory cards (save game storage)  I only use the official ones after some bad experiences with third party ones in the past (there may be modern equivalents), and be prepared for some fun slowly inserting and removing them from the extremely finicky slot to get them to read. The action replay is good in that you also get the ram expansion functionality (extra console RAM to play games that need it) and avoids a bit of that, but I seem to recall that you had to save games to the tiny internal memory then copy them to/from the action replay which was very boring - again this may be different on newer versions.

Cool. I suppose that is one of the problems now. Ordering things from other countries makes you think twice.

Yep the 60hz switch is very simple two wires to a jumper and a switch on the end. May have to remove the original jumper, it was 20 years ago I last did one, but plenty of instructions online. If you’ve got a satiator I would recommend it as you only ever need one machine.

I'd destroy the machine. If I can clean up the jap one a bit so it's less aestheticly offensive to my wife I'll just keep that. If not I'll ask a kind soul here to sort my pal console for me, or buy a pal console with switch already done I guess
