I didn't want to name names, but yeah. This is how the post appears:

I wasn't following the earlier conversation, as I haven't read the comics, and hadn't expanded the quoted post above either. However as I was up to date with the show, I expanded your spoiler as I assumed there was nothing from the show to spoil.

Obviously if I was paying more attention I would have avoided it, but you know.

I'd have trimmed the quote to be more obvious but mobile editing is shite.

FFS I’m pretty pissed off with that spoiler Dekay.

And before anyone goes on about it being different to the comics, we’ve just had a big plot point from the comics haven’t we? So who knows if they’ll use the one Dekay mentioned or not. But right now it feels like the ending of the whole show has been spoiled.

You’ve had a background event, that was presented in such a different way as to be almost unrecognisable. All the foreground plot stuff was new to the tv show: like pretty much everything in season two and three.

Please add it’s a comic spoiler. It’s just a few words but hopefully will save a few other people being pissed off like I am now.

Done.

I very much doubt they'll do that for the show. Not least because in the comics if feels tacked on at the end - like, they finished the run but then did another series just to do that thing.

Which big plot point from the comics have we just had? Because I don't recall anything this series even being in the comics.

A small detail I enjoyed from one of the recent episodes…

Spoiler

After Homelander’s mini-breakdown, when he’s naked and Ashley comes in, the show-runners have embraced the fact that Anthony Starr is wearing a muscle suit as Homelander by working it into his character. Homelander may be extremely strong but he’s not visibly ripped. So it’s another sign of his massive insecurity that he has fake, Superman style muscles built into the suit.

If you had Homelander's strength, how would you even build and maintain the sort of muscle his suit suggests?

Well, indeed! The fact that it was physically impossible wouldn’t stop Homelander from having a complex, though. All he’d be fixated on is being as strong as a comic book superhero but not looking like one.

I can take the Van Dyke accent - grow to love it even but having West Ham and Charlton scarves on the same wall? You're 'avin' a fackin' gee-rarf you caaant.

Props for the mighty Irons having the era appropriate crest too.

I've seen people saying this was a "filler episode". What the fuck? I thought it was pretty fucking major. The three stereotypical "Alpha Males" in Homelander, Soldier Boy and Butcher are all emasculated, the stuff with The Deep was hilarious and fucking disturbing, Paul Riser is awesome and it's all just so fucking on the nose. They are really pushing it. I love the fact that it's winding up the sort of right wing cunts that thought it was "The Homelander" show. He's being shown to be the coward that he is. He's Trump. A bully. That's all there is to it. Stand up to him and he runs.

Also Jensen Ackles is perfect as Soldier Boy. "You can gargle my ball sack" is a line for the ages.

Felt like an hour of mostly filler to me, spiced up with a couple of trademark WTF moments.

I'd been really enjoying this season until last night, and have high expectations for the season finale next week.

Whilst not quite a bottle ep this weeks wasn't great I felt. The cartoon stuff I found really irritating.

Who said this ep was filler?

A lot happened including a lot of character development.

I think the show is an improvement on the comic. I haven’t read the comic but I read the plot outline and it’s pretty bleak.

This is a bit more light hearted but still kinda mean.

Bit confused how MM is trying to make his case that Homelander is bad to Todd but never pulls out the trump card that he’s a member of the FBSA and Todd is a school teacher. So which one of them would be more privy as to how superheroes really behave?

Perhaps that bit is a secret - weren’t they a black ops division of the FBSA? It’s not as though he was Hughie.

It was a manoeuvring the pieces episode, for sure,  But sometimes the pieces need moved.

As with the musical number, I found the cartoon bit to be a bit played out. We've seen vibrant tonal shifts juxtaposed against dark surroundings plenty of times, and I haven't really enjoyed those sequences. The Black Noir scenes may have been less hack than the musical number, but we've been given no context that makes them make sense.

That said, it's all still pretty great, and surprises me every week. I actually hope it ends soon because I don't know how they'll be able to keep ratcheting things up without serious retconning and perhaps even off-planet shit. But it's a huge success with multiple spin-offs, so I expect it'll be around a while.
