I’ve no issue with this as it’s how it is in the comics. But…

In the show Butcher would never take it - he’s said as much.

It makes sense based on what he’s gone through….

Spoiler

Small things along the way have challenged his attitudes to supes, such as working with Annie and Kamiko, but the one big factor is Becca’s death.

He may as well have been swatting Stormfront with a feather duster while she slowly strangled his wife, and probably partly blames himself for Ryan’s resulting manslaughter. He still wants revenge on Homelander, really it’s all he’s got left, but that encounter must’ve drummed it home how ill equipped he is to ever achieve that.

Blimey.

I hope they haven't shown all of the action-y bits in that trailer - whilst I enjoyed the first two seasons, they are massively filled with action (which is fine), so I still want some surprises.

Temporary V. It feels like a way for the writers to have their cake and eat it. Still, maybe it’ll have some lasting consequences/side effects to whomever takes it.

Spoiler

They have it in the comics, but it seems far less temporary there.

Think I've only got two things to add here - Season 3...

Spoiler

Chalize Theron, WTF. She loves a superhero cameo.

And I totally agree about the sentiments on

Spoiler

Temporary V. I think it's a bit of a cop out but I'm interested to see where they take it at least.

Surprised they revealed the identity of the head popper lady so early, I wonder if that ties into this stuff too.

Outside of Better Call Saul, I don't think there's a character I enjoy watching more than Evil Superman.

Best show I've seen in a while. The difference in writing quality between this and something like Obi-Wan is staggering. Episode 1 of season 3 hits the ground running at 100mph. Bold, smart, confident, and horrendous in the best possible way. The guy who plays homelander deserves all of the awards.

Damn, but this is GOOD television.  Really good stuff.
