The 2018 self-titled album didn't really do it for me, but this has some highlights - that bassline in the title track is

Need some more down trodden, over worked and under paid, failed relationship and solitude at the bottom of a whisky glass music?

The Delines - The Imperial

It's so basic, in a really unpleasant way. Like something I made in Music 2000 on the PS1.

I think my music 2000 creations were better than that. Very uninspired.

Did anyone else record theirs to VHS?

Oof, sorry gramps. :P

Kidding aside, one criticism I do have is that the teaser snippet I heard on Twitter is pretty much the entire song, and the new album content revealed before this was a little more varied and interesting. So as much as I loved the first listen I don’t know if it’ll stay in my rotation for long - much like Star Guitar, thinking about it!

And @deerokus - for the truly ghetto recordings, it was all about angling the mic of your stereo towards the TV speaker. ^_^

I remember people saying the exact same thing about Star Guitar.

I mean, it is shite, though.

Holy shit that is fucking awful.

No it isn't.

It's an average song by a band in their declining years.

But it's fine.

Nah it is awful, same bands last material was far better.

New Mikron release on the excellent Central Processing Unit label.

I'll admit that after the honeymoon period I have lost interest in it a bit. (Also my post was made literally as I discovered that it was out, so I was a bit quick to post the shiny new thing.  ) I think the biggest problem is that it's just "fine" - inoffensive, listenable stuff with not much beyond the hook (again, like Star Guitar). You can't have an opinion on the internet without viewing things as the worst creation ever or the second coming with no middle ground, so of course people will say it's awful - but I do hope that the best stuff is being saved for the album.

Couple of singles, no album as yet, but check out this lot. Very promising.

Got real Fugazi vibes from this, which is obviously a good thing

Late to the party here but there are some lovely chilled beats in this Kyrist EP released earlier this month
