Metroid: Zero Mission

To recap:

I've asked for the other topic to be locked, as it's going nowhere.

Linking my UK copy of Metroid Fusion to the game, I unlocked an art gallery, with the ending pictures from Metroid Fusion, as well as totally new artwork, detailing Samus' life with the Chozo. Very cool. And there's an excellently detailed picture of "METROID FUSION ACTION FIGURES! SAMUS ARAN VS SA-X! WITH BABY METROID!". I want them now!

On to gameplay - it feels like Metroid Fusion, a lot. The controls are identical so far. I've collected the Morph Ball, Long Beam, Missiles and Bombs now, and entered Crateria, but haven't been able to go anywhere. Graphically, it's really detailed, with small parasites attaching themselves to Samus if you go near them. It feels a bit faster than Metroid Fusion too. The first little comic book style scene I've seen is the Mother Brain awakening, and having a vision of Samus going down an elevator shaft.

And, for all you pedants out there, I will be buying the proper cartridge when it's released.

It's got the look of Super Metroid, the feel of Metroid Fusion and probably the map of the NES one  It's got at least one new boss but from the trailers it's got a lot of the Super Metroid ones. I think it's a LOT faster than Fusion, especially as you seem to run at nearly the speed of the powered up dash when you are just walking normally. You can't grip onto the sides of things at the start which is a bit weird, and you also can't stand on the platform aliens

The little flying turtles

.::: Ah.. Rippers...

You can't stand on them normally though. You'll need to freeze them first.

Also I heard they made bomb-jumping easier. Seems you can get abnormally high with bombs this time. *damn it's tempting to play it all the way through*

.::: Here we go again.

Rest assured I won't be playing it though, only did a 'routine' thorugh Brinstar to check. It is now scratching through my skull, begging to be played...

That reminds me, maybe I should claim back my GB Player...

Hmm, too bad I don't have a flashlinker

Don't like playing with emulation...

Take my advice mate... GET ONE!

I've had one for a month now and I've never looked back.

As well as all of those sacred ROMs, it also has a great dev scene -

Speccy, NES & SMS emulation.

Elite remake.

Tons of tech demos.

Applications from JPEG viewers to MP3 players!

:(

Can I also state for the record that all games worthy of a purchase... are.

honest! B)

What, the map thing? There's a couple of those.

I'm having bother with this bit, and I honestly can't see how to work it out.

I'm in the Kraid Area, near the bottom of the map. There's a platform with a Morph Ball sized tunnel, and a strange enemy that moves around on the wall. At the end of the tunnel, what looks like a dead end, there's a missile block. I can't it it with the missile, it won't get close enough. Bombing it doesn't work either.

They take quite a long time, or are very very fast, they're quite random...

Metroid Zero Mission is a lot less linear than Fusion, you can go to lots of places out of the way for secrets, and find optional major powerups it seems. that still doesn't stop me from not being able to find Krrrrrrraid David

I want Zero Mission.... NOW!!!

How long does DVDBO take to dispatch stuff that's been on pre-order? (not used them before)

Haven't you heard, man? You can play it now, because it's okay to pirate GBA games as long as you pwomise you'll buy it properly when it comes out. TRUFAX! or whatever.

Hurrah for skewed values!

.::: I wonder if they left the original shortcut intact just above his 'room'.... *maybe a hint?*

Damn you people! All this talk of Zero Mission+my lack of self control made me order this of DVD Box Office! Does anybody know of some self control courses, or something along those lines?!

They better not take ages to deliver or I may be forced to play the rom.

Did you know that in Japan and America, this game is £17, and over here it's going to be £35, I think they can stand to lose a bit. If it was say £20 I wouldn't blink at buying it. Therefore I think I know why that rom was hosted on a European server
