I'm in a minority, thought the trailer looked pretty tedious, or at least there's nothing in there that gets me excited to watch the series, and I really enjoyed Rogue One. First shot, "ooh, are we getting something new?" Nope, there's some Tie Fighters.

Ah well, hope I'm wide of the mark and it turns out to be really good for all those anticipating it.

I don't get the hype for Andor either. I enjoyed Rogue One when it originally came out, but then re-watching last year I forgot how miserable the movie was.

Initial reactions from those who've seen the first 3 epsiode arc seem very positive.  Sounds like it has a slower pace and takes its time in a more 'mature' way than other Star Wars shows to date, but that it's of high quality and worth the time investment (although that doesn't sound that big, with episodes at 30-40mins).

Hugely looking forward to watching it next week :)

Expect the primary complaints to be a) it's too political and b) it's too boring.  Bring it on.

Thought the first 3 episodes were bloody brilliant.  Writing, acting, effects - everything is spot on.

It's very different to almost all previous Star Wars content, but it's a vast universe and it's a good thing that allows them to take different approaches with different projects.

This is definitely more mature, but walks the line perfectly without crossing into "can't let the kids watch it" territory, and I look forward to watching this again tonight, but this time with a padawan or two joining me :)

Yup.

Tells a better story in the first three episodes than any of the other live action series have managed in their entire runs.  Imo anyway.

I enjoyed this, it looks absolutely stunning and feels *so* real.

It's taking its time which is nice though I think they could have done the same thing in 2 episodes and I'd have known the same about the characters.

I bloody love star wars droids - they are always the best.

To be honest, I actually don't think it's good Star Wars but I do think it's good TV! I certainly like the general mood that's going on in this early on, although the flashbacks to Andor's past reminded me of the terrible, terrible children in Mad Max Beyond the Thunderdome.

I'm yet to work out just why I should be rooting for Andor though. He came across as a bit of a fuck-up in Rogue One, and my thoughts have not changed.

So, in essence it's good enough for me to be invested in seeing where it's going to go, yet I feel it's so far removed from what I personally like in Star Wars that I kind of wish they'd been brave enough to release this as a tale in some new universe without any baggage whatsoever.

I’ve only watched the first episode but I always thought that Andor was basically the alliances go to man for the real shady stuff and handled it without remorse for the greater good and all that. He wasn’t meant to be the hero and we werent supposed to like him just sort of feel sorry for him and I hope they stick with that.   I really enjoyed the first episode and well I do utterly love Rogue One.

That does make sense!

I thought the first episode was like watching paint dry. My past exposure to the franchise is the OT and the ST along with RO and a few Mandolorian episodes so I’m not a huge fan of anything.

The first three episodes are basically one long ep. I don’t think they work individually at all.
