They're still pretending that it's coming out, but the standard unit has gone from $249.99 to $289.99. Oh and now you only get one controller instead of two despite it coming with two controllers being the whole bloody thing they were shouting about. If you want two controllers you have to pay $339.99 ūü•ī

Imagine having to manage supply chain negotiations for a product that you utterly know is being sent out to die?

You've either got to be in complete denial, or totally demoralised working there.

I looked it up and see it's a US phrase. Genuinely never thought of it as rude. Bloody yanks.

Yes, I've only ever heard that in the context of "let's go cornhole ourselves a drunk" from Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

You guys didn't get Beavis and Butthead in the UK?

Fucking hell, $339, a Switch with two Joy Cons is only $299. This product has no chance.

The 289.99 option is 'budget friendly'. God this thing is going to be so bad.

Oh no

A "significant number" of staff have now been laid off in order to meet "dramatically reined in operating costs", Intellivision boss Phil Adam wrote in an email to customers, which has in turn led to further issues.

However, Intellivision appears to be adamant it will still release the Amico at some point.

How did anyone working on this ever think it could be even a moderate success?

I’m honestly baffled. The people behind the thing seem genuinely shocked this has proved to be a disaster so far.

THANK THE BABY JESUS!

The trademark for the Intellivision Amico is once again live on the United States Patent and Trademark Office website. It looks like rather than request a further extension on the existing trademark, Intellivision has instead opted to file for a brand new one as of June 30th, 2022.

As reported by IGN, Intellivision's CEO also states that the company "is still working on the console" and that the United States Patent and Trademark Office website "is usually pretty slow in updating".

So the saga continues! Whether we'll see the console actually come to fruition is up in the air, but hopefully some good news will come to the customers who have supported the project thus far.

hbomberguy has a huge video about Tommy Tallarico, the Roblox "oof" and a large section on the Intellivision Amico.

Brilliant video! One hell of a journey into the weird twisted mind of Tallarico!

Also enjoyable is a reaction video to the H.Bomb video, by the Dr Doom guy that’s interviewed TT in the past.
