The Mandalorian

I’ve enjoyed the series so far but not been blown away, but that episode was brilliant.

Spoiler

When Boba gets his armour back. :omg:

Dunno how I feel about pretty much everyone from season 1 coming back in this. Bill Burr’s character was very bland and I don’t really see the point in having him back in this one.

My wife, who hates sci-fi, is also loving this. She’s not seen S1, so that gives me an excuse to rewatch it.

Strikes me as an excuse to flirt with the misfit-ensemble heist trope, with a bunch of people from all corners of the social spectrum who'd otherwise kick the shit out of each other if not for the common cause.

Baby Yoda (The Child) flirting with the Dark Side with force chokes on the stormtroopers at the end?  AFAIK Force Chokes are a Dark side exclusive.

Spoiler

Luke used it against the two Gamoreon Guards when he entered Jabba’s Palace, so probably frowned on but not exclusively Dark Side

The way Moff Gideon was smirking and allowing it to continue says to me he was pissed off and talking a trip to Darkseville.

Spoiler

People are reading too much into simplicity. It was just the kid getting angry with the Storm Troopers. The Moff being pleased with that was just because it was a good demonstration of his power, which Gideon needs. And because he doesn't give a shit about his men.

super nervous when Mando was doing the ‘force pull the ball’ thing  with Grugo inside the spaceship!!!?

It's a galaxy in which people are shooting lasers and wielding ginsu lightsabers willy-nilly inside spaceships since the very first movie. This seemed pretty tame and safe in comparison

becoming a badass dark-side killer.

Y'know...

Spoiler

given his upbringing (briefly recieved formal training from the jedi council, in seclusion, then escorted by a bounty hunter, then presumably gonna either stick with him or get non-standard mentoring from an independent jedi unaffiliated with anything much these days) I could see him being a decent representation of a grey jedi. Has his own version of an honor code, does things based on that and whatever is most pragmatic. A jedi antihero of sorts.

Caught up on the latest one last night, and agree with everyone here - absolutely amazing episode, breathtakingly so!

Missus has watched Star Wars but needed a bit of a nerd-splanation of who was who and timelines, so we agreed to watch all the films again starting at Episode 1.

Going from that episode of Mandalorian to meeza owz you a life debt it demanded by de Godz was such a laughable crash from such a height. It's truly jaw dropping how shit the prequels are and how awesome Mandalorian is.

I had a brief hope that once he'd finished his thing on the rocks he would just start talking, voiced by Peter Serafinowicz or Matt Berry.

"These are grave times indeed, Mandalorian."

And where’s the online petition for this? :D

Doesn't Luke pull these on the Gamorrean guards in Jabba's palace?

Spoiler

Yeah, absolutely. It’s just that this was mentioned about Grogu like it was a new thing he was doing. But he was doing it last season too.

Season 3 speculation.

Baby Yoda goes to Luke's Jedi Hogwarts. He keeps stealing Kylo Ren's blue space biscuits until he eventually gets so frustrated that he has a bad dream about killing him, prompting Luke to try and murder him in his sleep.
