Yes all that stuff it's explained in CW and rebels.

Clone Wars last season  and the last arc was amazing. Ahsoka is the best.

However, my only gripe with the episode is with her confrontation at the end, there's no way this could have happened.

I really don't think the show's going to throw any EU stuff at you without an explanation. I'd completely forgotten about Bo-Katan for instance, and I can't say anything threw me in last week's episode.

No I guess not but it's just a little jarring when they make a fuss about some name or character that isn't in any of the movies. Not a big deal, it's not like they should throw away all of that stuff. And then yeah, I'm left wondering how all this fits in with "there haven't been any Jedi for centuries" or whatever it is.

I've never watched Rebels but is

Spoiler

Thrawn as much of an egotistical badass in that as he was in the EU novels? He was absolutely my favourite bad guy in the books and if they've done him justice I may have to give the show a go.

pretty much exactly as he was in the books

I only really have a passing familiarity with some of the bigger picture stuff but I am still really enjoying the whole space-gunslinger-samurai thing that doesn't waste a lot of time on info dumps. Sometimes a cool character can just be a cool character.

Of course now someone will have to go and write a dozen books on the Michael Biehn character's eighteen backstories and why he's absolutely integral to the Star Wars universe (assuming this already isn't a thing of course?)

I dipped in and out of Clone Wars and Rebels but went back through them all after the news about Ashoka and Bo Katan was announced. They are fantastic!

I sat slack jawed through the entire opening of yesterday’s episode because, well fuck me. That is one of the greatest introductions of a character, whether you know their history or not, that I have ever seen. More of this please and as much of it as you can get filmed guys :)

A couple of criticisms I have for this last episode:

The name chosen sounds like somebody dropped vowels out of a certain character's name from Star Trek Discovery. And it seems more fitting for an orc.

I was disappointed by the way in which the Jedi first encountered the Mandalorian- far, far too aggressive for the character.

Well

Spoiler

This is Ahsoka thirty odd years after the Clone Wars, in a hostile environment, having survived Order 66 and seen her master become a Sith Lord. It's fair to assume she might have changed a little. ;)

The guy doing Han was fine enough, it’s just the film was a bit pap. I still enjoy it, but it wasn’t great and didn’t perform so there’s loads we’ll never see.

At this point I'd expect them to to do an episode where everyone would come out of it it going, "that Alden Ehrenreich is an ace Han Solo"

That felt really special. I've just finished watching it and I'm quite emotional.

What happens if Luke turns up.

WHAT HAPPENS.

SHIT!

Spoiler

Now that Rebels has established that Jedi temples can have portals to other times, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Yoda who turns up. Or perhaps just Yoda’s force ghost.
