Microsoft Rewards

Started two games of Madden, quit out on first down and neither have registered. Also, the loading times are ridiculous. I dislike pretty much everything about this.

Edit: quit app, restart and games are registering now. Le sigh.

100 points on the rewards website to rattle through 5 things advertising Hogwarts Legacy. Just click them and close them.

Surprised by that. Would have thought MS would have stayed well clear of any chance of controversy.

I can't decide which was more annoying - the Madden one or the Stardew Valley one from last week.   And I've played a lot of Stardew Valley. Fully with you on the loading times. Just daft. I hope they don't keep making them that irritating.

I'm up to almost 215k points. I started doing the points when I got my Series X at launch. (roughly two and a bit years?)

I try to do the dailies as part of my morning routine, but don't really bother at the weekends etc. I've kept a 60 week streak going on the Xbox rewards app and have done most of the monthly ones.

I never go out of my way to do any of the other challenges etc. If it pops up a reward notification from playing something, I collect the points but that's it really.

I'm at the point where I'm wondering if it'd be best to keep collecting and see how many I have when the next (full) Xbox generation comes out and if I can trade all my points to get one.

Probably about a six/seven year cycle, so it's possible I might have about 600/700k by then if it's the same system as it is now and I keep it up at the same rate. (I'm assuming the Xbox and/or MS reward cards can be used for console hardware?)

Coffee Talk is an absolutely lovely little game, too, well worth checking out if you’re loading it up for the Rewards quest.

That Hot Wheels game gave me an achievement immediately and then another five in the first 15 minutes, so a good one for this week’s “earn 3 achievements” task on the Xbox dashboard or your regular dailies.

Weird issue. When trying to do my daily set the lightspeed quiz option does not allow me to participate, as safe search is strict.

No idea what is going on, but cannot change it either.

Anyone encountered this before?

It's great, I started that at random for achievements but spent hours on it.

I get an issue every once in a while where it goes to the page, but the wuiz doesn't appear. Is that what you're getting?

I tend to find coming back to it later solves it.

Trying on PC seemed to fix it :)

I don't think I've ever played a Sims game. How do I make a SIM guy piss himself 10 times?

A question I never saw myself asking.

edit - Made 5 completely random sims, started the game, locked the bathroom door, and sped time up as far as possible.  Those poor, traumatized, stinky sims.

The recurring Sims quest is so weird. Like, do they have a piss fetish or something?

I surmise the reason that quest requirements are so limited is because they aren't actually aware of the game state like an Achievement, rather they're just measuring increments in a game's predefined OS-level stats. This is a pretty buried feature, but from the Profile section you can dig into the games you've played and each has a Stats page: each one should list time played, but some also pull out pre-defined statistics such as distance travelled, games won, etc.

So to answer you question, one of those limited selection of stats for The Sims 4 must be how many times a Sim has pissed themselves. The fact a lot of games don't seem to use the Stats feature is probably why you see something like Black Desert coming around again and again, as they're working with a limited pool.

I'm thinking about trading in some of my points to buy Resident Evil: Remake, unless there ends up being a big disparity in what the Argentinian code sellers end up selling it for.

Is that a good use of the points or is there something else people think points should be used for that isn't Gamepass?

Does anyone know when the auto redeem occurs? RE4 comes out in about 6 weeks.

I would always use my reward points over real money, regardless of how much cheaper the stated price may be elsewhere. Paying for Game Pass is just one option among many, and unless your points are low at the minute, it's probably not an either/or decision.

That extra month at 12K is pretty good in a pinch. Used it a few times when I want an expensive game, just wish there was a way to buy Steam gift cards with it 🤣

You can in a roundabout way. For example, you could redeem points for Curry's vouchers then use those to buy Steam Wallet cards.

Here’s a neat and reliable (well, it worked for me) guide into how to turn your Sims character into Mr / Mrs pissy pants.

Oh and it said 10 pisses in the title but in the description and in practice it was 7 for me. Took about 7-8 min’s tops.

Is anyone else getting an “update your console’s location” error every time they open the rewards app?

I was getting it earlier. Reset the console and it happened again but then came out of the rewards app and back in and it finally worked.

Did the daily set this morning and saw the dreaded '0' in the middle of the screen when I started.  I missed it yesterday and was convinced I'd done it as part of my daily routine.

I know it's fuck all in the grand scheme of things yet it annoys me far, far more than it should.
