So, I've just had a few min's free to do my daily pointathon and figured I'd give it another go but all I get / see is this....

 

 

Anyone else just getting given 10 points and not the 50 that's been mentioned?

Anyone else not having any joy in getting the "Play a PC game" to pop today?

 

I've been in several AOE lobies and booted up Solitaire but no joy?

 

It did give me the "Play with friends on a PC" which of course means I've played a PC game .

 

Also no treasure this week so far and on my rewards dash I've not been getting any "check out this game" , "Watch this youtube video" etc 5 point tiles since probably Monday when I normally get anything between 2 and 5 a day?

 

None of it's a big deal, just wondered if othes are experiencing the same.

Occasional massive flakiness of the rewards points system is sadly just par for the course.

 

I played three rounds of Halo Infinite last night (one normally being enough to get both the play a PC game and play a PC hame with friends points) and only the play a PC game one popped. I stopped just before midnight as sometimes they just randomly pop several hours later.

 

About half an hour later the play a PC game one popped again for today (ie Saturday not Friday) despite the fact I hadn’t actually played another Gamepass game since midnight but the play with friends one still hasn’t now at nearly 1pm so looks likely I’m not getting it for yesterday ☹️

 

You got lucky with it your way around as the play with friends one is 250 rather than 50 points!

 

But yeah sometimes it just doesn’t work

Yeah I've experienced the falkiness a good few times beofre with the "Achieve more to earn more" being by far the worst offender for me! 

 

I've also had the Play with Friends take along time to pop but it's generally pretty good and I don't think I've ever had the Play a PC game not pop within a few minutes of booting up AOE.

 

Oh and I've seen other people quote the play with friends as being worth 250pts but it's always shows 100 for me (and 10 for play a PC game)....

 

 

Again, I really can't moan about the Rewards scheme as I personally think it's very generous .

It shows as 100, but if you have 7+ (8+?) friends you get a multiplier. You'll see it when you get the tally window, if you get everything and the 5 day bonus it's 300 points or so.

Ah ha, yes!

 

Just collected todays points (still nothing on the play a PC game front, hey ho) and for the first time took a propper look at the tally window (you're right it's 7 friends) and it did indeed show there as 250 .

I did the 250 point Dishonored 2 weekly quest in about 5 minutes last night. While it was really easy, because I had a save from the last time they did this as a quest, I really wish they'd mix it up a bit and come up with some new ones. 

 

Presumably it's something to do with being able to track something like that? Like the game has to communicate with the app somehow and not every game does that? Why else would we keep getting the Black Desert one?

If you want an easy achievement to go along with the 250 points for playing Broken Age for an hour:

Start a new game

Pick the lad on the right by clicking on him

When the cutscene is done walk to the right so he sits at the table

Say yes to the first cereal option

Do nothing and, after a couple of minutes, you'll get an achievement for not using the spoon

 

Alternatively, if you say no to all the cereal options, that'll give you an achievement as well.

 

Then just leave the game running for an hour

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does this mean? I'm fairly new to rewards. I can see a treasure chest on rewards.bing.com which says I'll get a streak bonus in four days. Is that what you mean?

It's on the Rewards app on the console - where you have the weekly task, daily achievement points etc, if you're lucky you'll see another tile with 'weekly treasure' for 100 pts.

Yeah do. It's kind of amazing as to how quickly they add up. If you get a minute to take a look through this thread or the Rewards page on Reddit you'll be amazed as to how many people have managed to collect enough points to get Series X's S's, memory cards etc all for a few minutes of clicks a day. At the very least you can easily get enough points to cover your Game Pass Ultimate Subscription / have enough points to one side to cover the next AAA release that you're looking forward to .

I've been doing the bits every day that pop up on rewards.bing.com and I've got a Chrome extension which I kick off every day to do Bing web and mobile searches. I've earned a couple of £10 vouchers doing that over the past few months. But I haven't been checking out the rewards stuff that's actually on the console. Luckily my employer pays for Game Pass Ultimate for me so that's one thing I don't have to worry about, at least.

Download the Xbox app, there's pretty much 300 points a day up for grabs on there too .

The Xbox app on PC? I use that for remote play already. Can't see any rewards stuff on it, though...

You can redeem the points through that, but it's not super obvious. The mobile app shows you in much better detail.

 

Stick on a multiplayer game on PC, head into the lobby and idle or play the match, wait for the PC prompt to say you earned stuff, then claim through the mobile app to see exactly how much.

I started doing the rewards points diligently 109 days ago. I now have over 82,000 points which I could cash in for about £60 in Microsoft gift cards. 

 

Not bad at all! 

 

For the multi player task I enter an Age of Empires lobby then I hop in the shower. By the time I'm out of the shower the notification to claim my points will have popped up. 2 minutes does the bing searches and the browser extension tasks. 

 

I normally have a game on the go for the daily 50 points achievements, currently it is Vampire Survivors as it is very easy to get an achievement within 30 minutes, plus the game is awesome.

I think I’m going to have to deliberately break my streak on the Xbox. It’s asking for three achievements and I’m scanning my owned games for three easy chieves to grab. It’s not fun. If it was for the monthly bonus round maybe.

I jacked that one in. Decided it wasn't worth the 15 points. 

 

I also don't always do the 50 points for an achievement one, unless I have something where there's a load of quick and easy ones. If I'm playing something and have the opportunity to grab an achievement, I'll go out of my way to do that. But I won't boot up the S for anything that requires anything that requires more than a few minutes. Retro compilations are generally good for this.

Yeah, I did it again today and it was far less enjoyable the second time around. Can't imagine it's going to stick. Plus, I only get 5 points for it!
