Also in what is a first (as far as I can remember, and it could well be a mistake) one of the weekly “play” quests that’s gone up today is The Artful Escape. As good a game as it is, it left Game Pass a few weeks ago and I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not gonna splash £16 on it for 25 points

It has swapped for Tunic now :)

There's a new rewards thingy up today titled "Spooky season is here" for a very quick and easy 150 (I think, may have been 100) pts:

Also there's another easy 40 a day to be had by watching a couple of fitness videos (20pts ea). You can work your way through this list (spoilered as it's q long) or the link bellow.

It builds up surprisingly. I’ve had quite a few games digitally off the back of it an even a gods awfully coloured design lab controller. For a few moments clicking a day, totes worth it.

edit: just checked, £145 of points redeemed to date with about £50 of points banked.

I've been collecting the points for a few years now and have spent almost all of them on Game Pass Ultimate. Just calculated that so far I've had three years and seven months of GPU for free. If I were paying the £10.99/mo for it, that works out equivalent to a value of £472 (yes I'm aware there are cheaper ways to get GPU like pre-paid cards etc).

The best part is of course that you can front-load your account with GamePass Ultimate at a somewhat faster rate than you use it up. So even if I stopped collecting points now (or started using them for other things) my GPU is paid up well into 2025.

I suppose eventually (maybe in another year or so) there must come a point where I have a full three years built up and can't front-load any more. At that point I guess I'll start saving the excess points towards something else. Maybe hardware.

I let my Ultimate expire then I top it up with 3month gold codes* to 1 year (15k points per code = 60k for 12 months) and then buy a month Ultimate (12k) to convert it. So that was 72k points for 13 months ultimate. There are probably even more points efficient ways of doing it but that one I can easily do as I earnt 200k in points this year so far (ish) which has bought me an MS wireless headset and a years ultimate.

* I believe not everyone can redeem for Gold membership

@Clipper That's very good and clearly more points-efficient than my way. But I don't think I would like having to let it run out. I think what I enjoy about my way is that the date keeps getting further away rather than closer. I guess there's something comforting about knowing that even if I started to do nothing, I've still got free games lined up for literally years.

Yup! After seeing the banner yesterday and posting it on here, it would seem that I didn't return to complete my daily streak !

To be honest I'm not as annoyed with myself as much as I'd thought I'd be and the streak will be back up to it's full points earning potential in just a few weeks, but still, me:

Do you have to go through any kind of app or specific page to get the points for these, or will bring logged in and "watching" them do? Another couple of tabs for my Rewards browser window.

At the moment, I do:

Searches

Daily set

Any other punch cards or points the crop up on the Rewards page

Log into Fortnite (biggie that one @ 250pts a day)

Log into the Xbox mobile app

Achieve More, Earn More

Weekly sets

Daily, weekly and monthly Game Pass quests

Am I missing anything?

As an aside, I've ended up playing and really enjoying a couple of games that I only initially played for points. Namely Killer Instinct, Taiko Drum Master and Sniper Elite. So it's been worth doing, even beyond the points I get.

On the Rewards app on console there is the weekly 100 point treasure. There's also the multiple 5 point 'check this game out' and the occasional 10 point poll you get below the that and weekly set you've mentioned.

womble9 posted just up this page a link to Reddit (copied below) for two fitness videos a day for another daily 40 points.

https://www.reddit.com/r/MicrosoftRewards/comments/wzs389/fitness_videos_for_uk_40pts_per_day/?ref=share&ref_source=embed&utm_content=title&utm_medium=post_embed&utm_name=a3f1558b70fc4443970ca4bfa956db71&utm_source=embedly&utm_term=wzs389

A couple of months ago someone posted about the Bing home page on PC (choduk, August 10th). If you go to the Gaming tab on a Bing home page there will be a task worth 10, 30 or 50 points. You just have to click it to get it done.

Even without GamePass I'm on for over 200,000 this year which is just as well as I just spent over 500,000 on a Series X last week.

I love the sound of that but the other detail I didn't mention is I do the same routine for my son's Gamepass Ultimate so I need 72k a year* to do his as well, I wouldnt have enough points to keep us both upto date at 12k a month :D

I am looking forward to the family ultimate and then I can hopefully just use points to keep the family pass going forever without as much hoop jumping

* All points gained on my account, I did show him how to do rewards points but he barely remembers to do it and I am NOT doing both accounts :D

How exactly are you doing that? I'm not finding anything about it by searching for it

In the Xbox mobile app, not the Game Pass one, tap on your profile and you should see this:

Screenshot_20221006-154650_Xbox.thumb.jpg.3d0f892d3eb402a57e256b04630628af.jpg

You get bonuses that add 150% for

Screenshot_20221006-154701_Xbox.thumb.jpg.35ca95515c026eeb13630c7d977a0dd5.jpg

You just launch Fortnite in a browser, you don't need to play and it's OS agnostic, and you get 250 points. You also get a rotating amount each day for logging into the app. Up to 50 points, I think.

Mine has "Play with friends on PC" instead. I'll see if it counts Fortnite tho

I think it does. I used to use Age of Empires for that - all you have to do is sit in a multiplayer lobby for a while to get your points. I had to boot into windows for that, so I'm glad I can do Fortnite in Linux instead.

You don't even have to do that. You just have to start a cloud gaming session in a browser on your phone and let it sit on the Fortnite splash screen for a minute or two.

There's no requirement to actually play the game, which is good because I have zero intention of doing so but I want the points.

I don’t have the Rewards tab for some reason.

Bizarre. So you have the little avatar/profile at the bottom right of the app? (You can see where the bottom row of my screenshot has five icons: Home, Social (friends list), Search, Library (screenshots/video captures) and then Profile.)

But your Profile tab just has Posts / Achievements / About, whereas mine also has Rewards there? Is that right?

In the end I did an Age of Empires lobby. Playing any cloud game didn't seem to trigger it.

I was surprised to find I quite enjoy Fortnite. Don't normally play shooters, but went through a little phase of playing it.

Has to be a PC Gamepass game for the play with friends one. Cloud doesn’t work.

I used to play a round of Halo Infinite when I had it (I have the Fortnite one now).

The Fortnite one on the other has to be Cloud

No I've just been working my way through them by clicking on a couple of them each morning and it's been giving me the points.

Nope, as far as I can see you're doing pretty much the same as me, so I'm guessing you too are probably pulling in somewhere around 22k to 25k a month, great isn't it!

And yes, I've also found a good few games that I was initially playing just for points / easy achievements to be unexpectedly enjoyable to the point that I've stuck with them. The same can be said for some that I played to complete the weekly / monthly quests too with me just earlier this week being prompted to play (the so far superb) Inside :).
