Black Earth Rising - New Hugo Blick series

Recommended Posts

So I couldn't find a thread for this using the search function.

From the creator of The Shadow Line and The Honourable Woman comes Black Earth Rising:

As a child, Kate Ashby was rescued from the horrific aftermath of the Rwandan genocide and brought to the UK. But the tragic shadow of her past proves impossible to escape.

Well this started last week and I'm a big fan of Blick's two previous dramas. To be honest I was slightly disappointed by the first episode as it felt a little bit middling with not a great deal happening but I was wrong to worry. Blick was just setting up the characters and the scene and this weeks episode was absolutely amazing, very intriguing with lots of threads starting to appear. As for Michaela Cole, well she is just incredible.

Is anyone watching? What did you think of the first two episodes?

Only seen Ep 1 so far, and thought it was fantastic. Nice slow burn, the missus thinks she’s already sussed one of the big twists ahead. We’ll see. Looking forward to seeing more. And yes, all the actors are great in this.

You're in for a treat, episode 2 was brilliant.
