We've got two copies of ACNH on two Switches. My wife is thinking of moving her character from the old island to the new. That doesn't mean she has to literally move the Switch profile/Nintendo Account, right? She was worried she'd have to log out of the one Switch entirely but I'm reasonably assuming you can just move your ACNH from one island to another without doing that.
