Out of interest, how many bells and Nook miles do the average player have? 

I stopped buying nips when I had paid my final loan to Nook and amassed a total of around 13 million bells. I still buy most of the expensive stuff in the Cranny every day as gifts to my villagers, yet my bank balance keep growing just by selling off the fish, insects and other crap I gather each day. Last time I checked I'd passed 17 million and I'm starting to hope we'll get an expansion of sorts to the game that could introduce more ways to spend bells. 

As for Nook Miles I think I'm close to 350.000 points and see no need for them anymore.

I stopped with the turnips a few months ago as I had 7 million or so in the bank. It's remained about the same since as I don't spend money on anything other than whatever turns up in the shop. About 150,000 bells but I never spend them.

 

Today on my morning run around I found two new fish and three new insects! Excellent! I also found a Virgo star after a very brief meteor shower last night so need to find Celeste for the recipe. Oh, and I obtained a recipe for an amazing Golden Dung Beetle! Been a good morning...

Pretty similar to you

I stopped doing nips when I had a balance of around 12 million. Since then I have continued to accumulate more and now have about 25 million, it would be even higher but I used about 2.5 mill on fully expanding my "storage characters" house

In terms of nook miles I have about 420k at the moment

I cant see them adding lots of high bell value items but they could give us something to spend Nook Miles on.  There is the occasional seasonal item but for a game that is meant to be played over an extended period of time they do need to add more stuff to buy

I've been getting some weird results when it comes to obtaining framed villager photos. The very first picture I got was from the last villager to move in. I got it after a few weeks since she came to my island. Then I got a pic from the guy that moved in just a week before her and after that, nothing for ages. Only yesterday did I finally get a picture from Beau who was the very first villager I invited to my island on my first Mystery Island trip using the free ticket.

I'm really fond of Beau and would hate to see him leave but as he's an early villager his house is less than impressive so I might let him go should he ask for it.

@Rayn I stopped buying Turnips once I reached around 12 million. I haven't paid off my final loan as there doesn't seem to be much point. My balance has dropped to around 10 million thanks to buying some of the ridiculously priced items plus the odd bridge.

 I have around 120,000 Nook miles and have run out of things to spend them on at the moment. I wish they had items on rotation that you could buy with them. I'm sure New Leaf had a much bigger variety of items made available without the need for trading.

I haven’t played for weeks as not much spare time and I’ve become obsessed with Breath of the Wild. Switched on this morning and I didn’t get the autumn DIY from Isabelle but my partner did! There are pumpkins in the shop and the new seasonal item is available to buy.
 

Did anyone else not get it?

Nothing here. She told me it was an islanders birthday and that was it. What exactly is the DIY supposed to be?

I wasn’t paying much attention so I didn’t notice if she said something else so maybe we’ll get it tomorrow when it’s not another announcement?
 

It’s some sort of tree figure I think - you make it with acorns and pines you get from shaking trees.

Today the grass is a different shade of green and weeds look like tiny pampas grass? Nice. :)

Only one more bug to catch now, the dung beetle in December I think...

Didn't play for long this morning as I slept through my alarm and only had 20 mins free before work.

Didn't get any of the new crafting materials from shaking my trees, think I'm going to have to add some more plain trees and pines in place of my fruit trees

Yeah I got the little tree DIY. She did her little bit speaking about whatever it was, then playing with her phone said she was sending the recipe out to my phone. And also something about trees dropping acorns and pine cones so get shaking them.

You can keep the fruit trees @StumpyJohn they'll drop acorns, you just have to get the fruit off first obvs. I've just got 7 acorns off one peach tree, plus about 50 branches :lol: You just keep picking up what it drops then shake it again for more goodies.

 

To the previous question earlier I'm on about 402k Nook miles now and just a few bells away from 40 mil in the bank.

Still ain't paid off that last loan though, fuck you Nook! :P

I don't got balloons either, but there is a bubble blower next to the party poppers. Was that there as well before? Maybe it varies between the balloons/bubbles/sparklers/etc each day :unsure:

Thanks, I'll just add some more pine tree then as quite a few of mine are surrounded by flowers so no good for getting pinecones

It appears to be a new slot as wasn't there yesterday. I assume it cycles round the Redds raffle items from the fireworks festival.  Predictably I have yellow balloon in mine today :lol:

I have a pinwheel, but I think that was always there? 

 

On a totally separate note, I have just accidentally discovered that Nooks sells wallpaper and flooring :unsure:

Been doing some digging around the internet, and it seems if Isabelle has a game announcement, but also happens to have an announcement about someone's birthday, someone staying at the camp etc, then the latter takes precedence and she won't announce stuff like autumn being here. Yesterday she announced it was a villagers birthday in my game, and because she is limited to one announcement, I missed the autumn one. How shit is that? And worse, that is it a knock problem and they haven't fixed it!!

 But the recipe does drop from a balloon so all is not lost :)

I started playing this again yesterday. Tammi had sent me about 20 letters. So had Mira. None of the others had. Fuck those other guys. 

 

Tammi and Mira both were happy to see me. Mira gave me a gift. Only one other commented that it had been four months since they'd last seen me before prattling on about their inconsequential little lives and not asking me how I'd been, where I'd been or what I'd been doing. Selfish. Fuck those other guys. 

 

Ooh, pine cones! 

 

Oh, my seven year old has trashed the island. Well, he thinks it's great, but it mostly looks terrible. Fuck that guy.
