Sure. SteveH has claimed the recipe but pretty sure I have what I need to craft it so will pop one in the post.

 

EDIT: Looks like I will need to order a few magazines but will send one over in the next couple of days.

Most come from Nook Mile recipe cards.  There are a couple like Wedding and Bunny that come from seasonal events.

I count 22 speech bubbles of repeated text to skip past from ending one round of Bug Off to starting the next. Once I have the gold I'll never be doing this again because it's mad. I blame Pocketcamp. It taught Nintendo that gamers will accept tedium and grind in lieu of gameplay. I fired up City Folk last night out of curiosity and the writing is so much more faster and concise.

I feel like it used to be more self aware. Blathers, Sahara and especially Resetti we’re always very slow to talk to but it was part of their personality. Now everyone drones on forever. 
 

I also hate Flick and CJ’s designs. They’re so much more detailed than the other NPCs and I don’t understand why they weren’t designed to fit or otherwise why the others weren’t improved when they added those two. It looks stupid.

 

Finally on my list of Animal Crossing grievances after 500 hours played is that they’ve fucking ruined gold tools. They should last forever and stop all this bollocks of having to constantly replace your tools. I’ve got everything payed off, tonnes of all items, I’ve fully landscaped my town and about 3/4 done with my island. I have giant projects where I need to move hundreds of trees and flowers. I currently have one gold tool, and getting the others is fucking ridiculous. Even if I get them they still fucking break, so I need tonnes of gold that never drops from anything. It’s shit.

This game is trolling me so hard. I've been circling my island, finding nothing, then the bell rings to signal the end of the bug off and THREE butterflies suddenly appear...

I think it's even more difficult than the last tournament because cicadas and stags are around and to catch them you need to slow down. Sprinting around trying to get insects to spawn just sends them scattering.

 

The points don't carry over to the next Bug-off in the sense that if you reach 200 and get silver, you only need to score 100 to get the gold next time, right? Because last time I scored the silver, and I've definitely scored more than 100 points this time and there's been no word of passing 300 points from Flick. God, why can't they just tell you how many points you have in total?

The points certainly did carry over in the fishing tournament, I did silver the first time and only needed another 100 to get gold.

I completed bug off all in one go last time but they should carry forward too,  Certainly I had 8 points already when I first spoke to flick today and that was before I had done the free run to get the second nook ticket stamp so something did carry.

Yeah, other than the watering can the gold tools in New Horizon are utterly pointless and just a waste of a rare gold nugget.  Lasting 3 times as long as a regular tool is a totally bollocks 'reward'.  Back when I was doing major flower growing I could easily get through half a dozen spades and cans every single day.

You called it right. The gold trophy arrived this morning, all is well. :)

 

I also spent the early morning hours searching 32(!) mystery islands for a new villager after Velma picked the worst time to leave.

I settled on Fauna in the end. I would've preferred Beau with the antlers, but yeah. I finally saw some money and scorpion islands.

There’s one other fence in the game that you won’t have and no-one should but some people have got it through modded consoles and trading... that’s the fencing on Harvey’s island. It’s reportedly out there and attainable for nook miles tickets in some places. Not interest myself but find it interesting the lengths people will go to.

Finally got enough magazines.

 

Think I’ve mentioned that one of my residents is inaccessible when they are crafting. Seems like it’s a common thing.

Hey, DS Animal Crossing Lucytown Space Museum fans, I have an update for you.  This weekend it was the International Space Settlement Design Competition. Normally this would involve an all expenses paid trip to the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida. This time it just involved staying up for days in our kitchen (and other venues around the world). 
 

And Lucy (and her team) won the whole thing!
