I think I’ve lost two of my island rocks, broke them yesterday to plant more flowers and now can’t find them today, down to four now.

Only 1 new rock "grows" each day so if you broke 3 yesterday you will still be 2 down today

Got rid of Goose, was there from the start and a previous fave but was starting to annoy me so much and looked like a gymbro twat walking around with his sports shades and tank top all smug looking. Did two Nook Island visits for his replacement but not keen on either so will leave it up to chance again...

Ahh didn’t know that, both are still missing though so maybe the first one will come tomorrow.

I assume its possible for new rocks to not appear at all if there are no available spaces on the island.  You would need to have an absolutely packed island for that to be the case though or to be doing the "move the rocks into a specific area" trick and have covered the place too effectively with other things

I leapt into the sea off the airport, dived towards the first bubbles I saw, got a scallop, then Pascal. Sweet. But...he gave me another pearl. :/

Gave me another dress. 2 days running, what's he insinuating here?

Three ways:

  • Campsite visitors. You play games with them and convince them to live there. Then they visit Nook, come back and mention a villager might want to leave. The villager they pick is random. You can keep resetting the game until they choose the one you like, but this could take many attempts and hours of mashing A to skip through the silly games/dialogue.
  • They spontaneously want to leave. A thought bubble will appear over their head. Talk to them, they will say they're thinking of moving on. Encourage them if you want them gone. This doesn't relate to friendship levels, ignoring them, fencing off their home, pushing, hitting with nets, etc. Again, completely random as far as I know, so you could be waiting forever.
  • Add a villager with an Amiibo. I don't have any, but supposedly it gives you complete control over who they replace.

Finding a new villager:

The day after an animal leaves, the house will revert to a fenced-off plot of land. At this point you want to visit mystery islands via Nook Miles Tickets. Each visit will spawn a new villager you can ask to stay on your island. The last time I did this I visited twenty islands before I settled for Zucker.

Feel free to correct me if I've got any of this wrong...

Little question regarding villagers leaving. I'm sure in previous AC games, if a villager decided they wanted to leave and you didnt happen to go on the game that day, then the next day they would be packed up and you'd have no say in them staying. Is this still the case in acnh? Do I have to check on any favourite islanders each day in case they decide to go? Or will they only leave if the thought bubble is above their heads and I explicitly say yes I am fine with them leaving?

Tonight we have Celeste and Flick here! I didn't know we could get multiple special visitors like that. We have a light meteor shower tonight so sporadic stars. We'll open the gates if anyone wants to visit. The place is a mess as we are trying to move our rocks so there are mannequins everywhere.

Evening visitors like Celeste and Wisp are in addition to day and all day visitors

Got what I believe is the final Celeste recipe from her on @Daley Island. No more recipes from her other than new zodiac furniture :(

Yes, with Amiibos you have to invite them to the campsite 3 times and complete their request for a crafted item each time.  They provide a recipe card if you don't already know it.

You can then ask them to stay and choose which current villager moves out.

I have Camofrog arriving tomorrow to replace Leonardo.  Little did he know that giving me his photo would seal his doom!!

Glad I could help! Thanks all for the watering. Now I’ve got my act together I’m closing in on the final few hybrids.

Got my first couple of pictures recently and it was bittersweet as I knew to freshen things up I could now let them leave. Think Rosie can go but not sure I can let Leonardo go yet, he was part of the original crew.

Sorry Rosie...

Shit I forgot to post earlier but I’ve got a meteor shower tonight. The gate is open and Celeste is trapped on Redd’s beach. You don’t need a ladder, there’s stairs on the right side of town to get out to the back and stairs down to the beach.

I did a dodo code as I’ve seen a lot of new faces who might not be on my friends list, feel free to invite anyone else:

I’m AFK but feel free to explore. Finished my rock garden:

Cheers Broker, just been and grabbed Celeste and left again, I have sparse stars at mine so no need to stay, and it's very full! GF is going to try to come too but she too has stars so just looking for that recipe. Thank you!

In this one, they never leave without warning.

I'm sure we had a cow nobody liked (Norma) leave on our last island, and the first we knew was when Isobel announced she was leaving. I think you can still go to their partially packed up house and persude them to stay at that point, though.

CJ this morning, sold half a million bells of wardrobe fish and paid off my mortgage - tomorrow, I get my upstairs room! Also paid off my 8th incline yesterday, meaning I now have the full complement of bridges and inclines.

I'm enjoying myself, but I think I can take my involvement in the game back down to background radiation levels now - to that end, started playing Octopath Traveller again last night after a long hiatus.

Yay! I finally got a fly!  Now, do I leave all that rubbish out, stinking the place up, until I get another three?

Boo!  I've not had a gold nugget in ages.  At least 10 days I reckon.  And I've got load of gold things I want to make.

I caught 4 so that I could get a model later but its so low down my list to give to Flick that it will be a long time before I do

I've had periods with no gold too, I just keep on bashing rocks and shooting down balloons and eventually they start coming.  Can always do a few Nook Ticket islands too for extra rock bashing opportunities.

Forgot to grab a pic on Monday night when I finally got the Lunar Rover so fixed that late last night.  Moonscape is finally complete.

Redd's in town and has 2 fake's left to buy if anyone is interested. He has a fake Mona Lisa and a fake Jolly Painting (the face that is made of fruit and veg?)

I'll open the gate to friends but I'll be afk. You don't need ladders etc to get to him.

Well, just as I start building up my oriental music bar, I get hit by the Imperial bridge bug :( It was built overnight, and the bug prevents you walking over it....so a bit of a bummer!

I had the imperial bridge bug but it only impacted CJ.  Once he left at the end of the day and stopped blocking the bridge I was able to cross without issue.

I was actually happy to have it as it meant I didn't have to run around looking for him each time I wanted to sell fish!

I also have Redd in town today so have opened up.  Unfortunately he only has the bass and horse mackerel of the art world left, fake jolly painting and fake academic painting.

No ladder needed

On a brighter note, Abels have Meme Shirt in 4 colours :)

I also have a few spare recipes going for free in the usual spot

Anyone know if when a villager leaves who you used an Amiibo card to get, you can just use the card again to get them back, or are they gone for good?

Of course, but it'll be a completely new animal. Not the one that was previously on your island.

Thanks! Ribbot had only been there a week or so anyway, so that’s no great loss :p
