Only two more days to go then!

Just don’t do what I did. I spent over a week after a few mishaps getting my rocks sorted using the mannequin method, only to eat some fruit a few days later while moving some trees and then tapped a rock not realising I was still ‘powered-up’!  That tedious hour of putting mannequins down again was a hard lesson learnt to be careful in future.

I need ants and cockroaches, I've left a mouldy turnip stack on a single square of grass next to my house but no ants. Do I need it to be in a big grassy area?

Also, I've left bin bags out also on a single square of grass but no cockroaches, will bin bags do the job?

I'm just going from memory of previous ACs so maybe I'm not doing it right?

Ants will only appear if it is not raining and if your gates are closed.  I did mine in a larger grassy area and the ant train that appears is a couple of spaces long so I would guess 1 square is not big enough

Fly will appear if you drop a can, is cockroach in ACNH, am not sure?

Ta.

Don't know about cockroaches, was just racking the memory banks as I knew I needed to do something with rubbish. Probably confusing it with fly :blah:

So I checked my mailbox (in-game) this morning and one of the villagers had sent me a letter with a present attached.

It went something like "I was tidying my place and found this behind the sofa. Don't need it, hope you do"

Turned out it was a genuine piece of art (Mona Lisa painting).

Never had any villagers send me something that valuable before.

Lyman sent me a genuine statue.

Kid Cat sent me a fake statue a couple of weeks ago, little shit!

If you’re still open when I’m able to play again I’d love to grab some books, even though I’ve already seen the lovely town.

Are you after anything at the moment stiff?

Also is cohen205 from here? He’s on my switch friend list and came by for a visit earlier (AC name Matt). He wandered around and was friendly, didn’t say anything but emotes a bit. I offered him some stuff to catalogue and he took it, but he didn’t use the chat at all so not sure if he understood what I was offering. It was a solid 600k worth of stuff though

The Shell Partition was the hot item on my wife’s island today, and she made an absolute mint (16,000 bells each!). It got me looking at some of the other shell crafting recipes and how much value they add.

Shell Rug looks like the winner - turns 3 Giant Clams (worth 900 each) into an item that sells for 5400 bells, so doubles the value of each clam. Shell fountains is good too, but needs some stones, so it’s not just a question of using what you have in your pockets.

I think I’ll pop a DIY bench just outside Nook’s Cranny for last-minute value add before doing pocket dumps.
