Part of me loves this, but another part of me freaks out about what'll happen when it rains (I know, nothing, but still). Generally struggling with that when it comes to civic decoration!

That coffee table looks excellent - what range is it?

This is me. As much as I think some of the rooms made outside are impressive I just think they’re wrong  they make me anxious

I agree. I wish there was an option to add more buildings to decorate, there is such a good range of interior stuff that 6 rooms at home aren't enough. The diner range is a good example, mine outgrew the small interior room, then the large one, but take it outside and there's nowhere to put the wall decorations.

Mind you @thesnwmn you called my blue rose growing technique 'stupid' and now my outside rooms are 'wrong'.

Is it just me, or does the last part of Wisp only appear once you've nabbed the other four? It's so bloody tedious running around the island ten times...

Redd has visited my island TWICE ever. The last time was a fortnight ago. What the fuck.

He's not visited me since April...

You kind of can add more buildings. I was watched this island tour vid the other day and they'd added a bunch more player character houses just to use as other themed buildings. Bit of a pain if you'd need to create more accounts on your Switch just for that, but if you already have another account or two for buying games off other region eShop stores or whatever then it could be worth a go...

Can do you a round Tea Table for your library if you'd like, if you'd prefer that?pj7llUl.jpgle for

I'm a bit gutted this morning. I tried to do the trick with the mannequins to get all my rocks into one place, but I seem to have failed.

I decided to give it a try a couple of weeks ago. I built a little 'stonehenge' monument in the middle of my island and thought I'd get the rocks on top of the six plinths I'd built.  I knew it would be a right pain in the arse putting mannequins everywhere, but I figured it would be an hour of annoyance, and I might waste a day if I'd missed a spot, but I could live with my island being a mess for a couple of days.

So I smashed all my rocks and started dropping mannequins everywhere.  Over an hour later I nearly gave up.  I'd not even done half my island and it was taking ages, and really boring.  No!  I've put this much effort in already, it would be a waste if I don't finished the job.  (Classic sunk cost fallacy...)  So I carried on for another hour and a half, then saved and went to bed.

Next morning I struggled to get to my stone monument, but all six plinths were empty!  What?  I checked the island (really difficult to even walk around with so many mannequins everywhere), and found just a single rock in a spot I'd missed.  Damn. Smashed that rock, dropped another mannequin, but was that the only valid spot left?  Were my six plinths not valid stone spawning spots?  I read up, and only then did I find out that only 1 stone spawns per day. Whaaat? I wouldn't have started if I knew it was going to take 6 days.  But, I've already put all this effort in, I might as well see it through now (Sunk cost fallacy again...).

Next day, wake up and check plinths.  Nothing there.  Check island. Find another spot I've missed with a stone.  Smash stone, drop another mannequin.  Mope about my crappy island, and quit.

This carries on for four days.  I started on a Monday night, and didn't get my first rock in place until Saturday morning.  Woah, I was so excited!  Cracked it!  Only 5 more days to go.  Well, I got another one in place the next day, then every other day I either got a rock in place, or one spawned in yet another spot I'd missed elsewhere on the island.  Until Saturday when no new rocks spawned at all.  I spent ages searching every nook and cranny on the island to find the hidden rock, but nothing.  And I've had no new spawns for four days now.

I was worried that it was a bug, and I'm stuck now with only 4 rocks forever.  Or maybe Nintendo added a bodge to stop rocks spawning if you put loads of mannequins around?  But now someone on twitter tells me that there are also invisible 'tiles' on the map with a max number of stones allowed in them.  So I'd have to move it all slightly to get it to work?  (The sunk cost fallacy demands I do this...)

What.

That explains why I'm stuck on four as well, I suppose. I don't have anywhere I can move them to though, unfortunately, and I'm really tired of bumping into mannequins so I might just have to give up.

Well, they're not completely invisible.  You can see them drawn in dotted lines on the map.  Although someone else on twitter has just replied saying they've got all six rocks spawned in the same square, so dunno.

I'm going to do an experiment before I give up. With no rock spawns for 4 days, there can't be any viable spaces on my map other than the two empty plinths in the screenshot (which are all in the same map tile).  I will clear 1 new space in a different tile, and see if I get a rock spawn there tomorrow morning.

EDIT:

Alternatively, my problem could be the 'shadows' of the cliffs of the two bottom left and bottom right plinths I've built, stopping the top right and top left plinths being  valid spawn points...

I'm using my second switch account for a second house. Started it last week but did not really progress it much until yesterday.  Am doing it more for the storage space as have not even bothered with a nice interior in my first house yet!

Have opened up as Redd is in town, he has 3 fake paintings if anyone wants to buy them.  I have an incline in now so you don't need a ladder to get to the secret beach anymore.

Also Nips are 170 if anyone wants to sell for a small profit.

If you have not done so already then have a look at my new area in C3, its out of this world!:P

I haven't chatted to too many visitors or been to many other towns yet, so forgot how to use the text chat!! That's why I didn't reply when you first came in. I had to fucking google the right button to press!

Thanks for the TV though!! Much appreciated!! I'm totally skint right now.

PSA: if you are visiting other islands, download the switch online mobile app and use your mobile keyboard to type your messages in game.

I know exactly what you mean but I also, I feel your question is some sort of philosophical trick?

Ah, that's a huge help. It's the house one that's done me in - I'm one row short. Looks like someone's going to be relocating tomorrow.

It's deffo the left and right pliths at the top that are too close to the bottom ones. A rock can only spawn five tiles away from the base of a cliff, the center of your pliths, where you have inteded the rocks to spawn, are only four tiles away from the the cliff base of the bottom pliths  so if you move the top left and right pliths one tile towards north, you should be golden.

Only two more days to go then!

It would be much better if Label appeared inside Abels, that way there would be 4 visitors (CJ, Flick, Gulliver and Redd) for the 2 slots each week that aren't taken by the 3 characters that appear every week (Sahara, Leif, Kicks).  You could then be guarenteed the decent visitors once every fortnight
