Almost certainly a NAT issue, are you both on the same ISP by any chance?

Ive seen a similar thing happen with some friends - not exactly the same as in their case neither can connect to the other - but at a guess I’d say there’s no NAT on your home router. 
 

Assuming that’s right you could ask Virgin if they’d change your setup, although in my friend’s case that wasn’t possible.

My son started yesterday, which is not really been expecting because he’s 13 and didn’t seem bothered. He’s refusing all gifts from me and his brother, and even refused to take recipes for the early tools, on the grounds it was cheating. I really don’t want him to get bored and give up in the first few days though, so I’ve offered him a job in my orchard, picking fruit :lol:

I have a multicoloured ice cream lamp and one of the train sets in my my catalogue. Will figure out a mix of items and bells and mail over to you

Summerisle is open for a bit if anyone wants to come along and water the flowers. Not much in the shops apart from the space helmet in Ables but Dom's still wandering around in the ridiculous muscle suit I gave him this morning and that's good for a laugh.

What's the best way to prepare an island for visitors? Are items placed on the floor safe from being picked up?

 

Are my trees safe from being chopped!

 

I'm currently GMT +6hrs so I'm going to open a couple of hours before the shop opens on a UK based console tomorrow. 

 

My island isn't much to look at - but I want to be ready to share a nip rush. Watching Mukker's drop bunch after bunch of nips on the Nintendo DS game back in the day was such a highlight. 

 

If a friend buys an item from the shop does it appear in MY catalogue for future ordering? 

 

My friend code is 2825 1599 5973

No,but you can foster a trading relationship. I'm in a WhatsApp chat where we are constantly buying each other furniture and clothes.
