How do you stop them doing jock shit? Hate it.

I don't think it's possible. I've been trying to ignore one of the main instigators in the hope he'll leave.

So are

haunted paintings

a thing, or do you jest?

Apparently so.

Spoiler

There are some where the eyes follow you around the room, or small parts of the painting will change, or disappear completely.

I thought, surely not, in a Nintendo family game? But a few bits moving around isn't so bad. I was thinking Vigo the Carpathian from Ghostbusters II, or maybe this would show up if you took a photo of it.

Spoiler

Something I've noticed; it seems the backdrops that appear in the museum are tied to certain species. I visited Capone's museum and all he has in the end tank is the Football Fish, yet there was a rocky, deep-sea backdrop. I have no Football Fish, but three others and nothing behind them! :(

Edit: Spoilered for those with a sensitive disposition. :hat:

I'm probably the last person to realise this but if you have a full island and there is a visitor living in tent if you talk to them often enough, or win a game against them if they offer it, they can move in and force one of your existing villagers to leave. Lucy luckily chose Stinky to replace which is great because all he did was lift weights or talk about his abs.

Oh how disappointing, the ground around a stone incline can’t be completely filled in with matching stone tiling, it leaves a little green space between the stone of the incline and the stone of the tiling. Fiddlesticks!

I'll be back on in about ten hours. Come over and fish, we have loads of football fish at the moment.

Random people will come to the campsite infrequently and I think replace a random villager.

Amiibos are invited to the campsite and you bribe them for three days with shit stuff, but you get to choose who moves out.

If you have a spare plot after a camper leaves, you get to find random islanders on islands again to invite.

I decided my island was never going to do well in the competition being run by @Jamie John, so instead I convinced @Uncle Mike, @bimbam and @Made of Ghosts to come to my home and well. They didn't quite know what they were getting into.

The best bit is them trying to escape, you forgot to cut that bit out! Guys, if you're still in there, we're coming to rescue you!

Yes. After you speak to them a few times they will eventually start talking about how much they like the island and will then either say they want to move to it which you can accept or reject, If they are unsure you will have to beat them at a simple card game before they agree to move. Once they've agreed they will go and visit Residential Services who will tell you them that the island is full. The visitor will then mention she heard a name at RS of someone who is thinking about leaving. This is random so is you don't mind quitting and reloading without saving you will eventually get them to name someone you want to leave.

Interestingly now Stinky is leaving instead of the villagers lifting a weight in the town square they are now sweeping it instead.

@Number 28 aaarrgghh fucking hell, man. That face. I can’t fucking stand that face. It’s terrifying. Can’t ever look at it. Wtf. Jesus man. Spoiler it!!

Sorry.

I played some daft card guessing game with a camper once, and won after about three attempts. Do you have to win the first time to get him to move in? He didn't give me the option and I bothered him a fair bit...

I've still not built a bridge beyond the wooden one, or any inclines. I have no idea what I'm waiting for, I'm just lazy and indecisive. Although...what if Nintendo brings out an update that somehow turns everything on its head, allowing people to go in a brand new direction?

What? It could happen...

Is it just me or is all the Nintendo stuff out of this? Gamecube logos, Arwings, Mario hats, full Link costumes, '?' blocks and so on. It's possible they've held stuff back to tie it into releases over the next few years to act as advertisements (see XC2 costume in BotW) but there's a distinct lack of it so far.

Edit: further chat.

Then we could destroy our bridges and inclines

I love that no ladder or vault is required to navigate now

Yeah, I don't have crazy amounts of bells at the moment. I sold my first turnips this week. I don't have to vault either because I have the terraforming tools to make little stepping stones. :)

Oof, the lack of Nintendo IP items makes me think one thing. DLC/microtransactions...

It's a strange game in that one minute I'm bewildered over the crazy number of items, then the next I'm thinking...why is there a double but no single sofa?

Thank you for coming everyone.

i was unexpectedly AFK as my dog had horrendous turds all over the front lawn just as I opened the gate.

it was all over my hands, I had to hose the whole garden and myself, my wife had to stop the switch dying while I was out.

bad times.  I missed Rob coz of poo.

oh let me be your slave!

Visiting @letsbook island, with it chill 4am music playing. Everyone has to see his upstairs room, it's the most unique room I've seen yet. Love the entrance to the island, BTW.

I visited earlier. First time I had heard the 3am music!
