Tarantula season is over, which annoys me cos I was collecting for a model one but didn’t notice. 
 

Looks like we’re not getting tool durability any time soon. That data mined axe thing was for the May Day maze.

Anybody know if bushes count as trees when it comes to Island Evals?  My score has dropped back down to 4 stars and Isablelle is complaining about number of trees again, but I don’t think I’ve planted more trees since I got my 5 star rating, in fact I thought I’d cut some down!  I have planted more bushes though - is that the problem?  I also don’t know when the veal takes place - is it done the moment you ask her for it, as in realtime, or I’d there a lag between making changes and the eval updating?

 

I wish they’d all shut up about it anyway - the trees are lovely!  I say anyone who moves to a desert island and then complains it’s “too rural” can fuck right off.

I moved to the Southern Hemisphere, you’re welcome to come visit some time if that helps?  Dunno when Tarantula Season is here - is it six months long?  Maybe it’s now.

Tarantulas are new in May for the Southern Hemisphere. So tricky to find though, unless you're on a mystery island.

I suspect it’s not as clean cut as “you have more than X trees so 4* and complain about it”

 

I suspect all elements contribute a score. Things like number of trees, items placed, items dropped, etc. Some of these can only increase (items placed), some can only decrease (up items dropped) whilst others are probably thresholds (like trees, positive up until some number then slightly negative).

 

Add all the scores up and give rating.

If below 5* then report a negative.

 

if you talk multiple times she’ll sometimes tell you different things.

 

So I suspect you can drop rank by removing placed items but get told the problem is too many trees because the biggest reduction is too many trees but more items can overcome that to an extend.

Fucking hell. I’ve picked up over 130 planted weeds, all my recipes, all my free market stuff, all my shells, most of my game eggs, and have no fossils lying around.

I went to a friend's island this morning, and ohhh the space. It was so nice, lots of open fields and space to run.  It's quite easy to underappreciate that element of the game when building up our highly cluttered metropolises.

It's updated in real time. When trying for it I out more stuff down and asked every so often.
