maybe it only goes up when the day switches over rather than when you talk to the last villager?

I can open with a code if you like? There’s a lot of shit lying around that’s not for grabs though cos I’m working on some projects and find it easier to just drop stuff.

I think the problem with the randomness of AC is partly due to the way they've implemented it in regard to what we've come to expect from modern games. In a lot of modern games that put emphasis on random elements there's often a large degree of "weighting" applied so that while the outcome is ultimately random it can guide that randomness to provide a buzz by giving the player something nice before the point they get sick grinding and quit. This is a huge business for some genres (Especially f2p mobile gaming) and there's loads of techniques both good and bad.

 

It often feels like AC has never (And still doesn't) bother with much if any of that. Which is why you'll often get long runs of dupes and "bad luck". Because they're not really trying to entice with the randomness. It's just random.

 

Is that bad design on Nintendo's part? Probably. Especially since they do nothing really to mitigate the only way around it. Time travel (Which gives you more attempts faster).

 

IMO the team behind AC design really needs a shakeup in a lot of areas. Despite the improvements in the game and how much I love it there's still a feeling of it being very safe. Not taking any risks. And some of the design choices in 2020 are just bizarrely terrible.

Yeah, it'd be a step too far for Nintendo to do something progressive like make them boyfriends.

Had my concert and now got the designer tool stuff. Didn't realise you had to speak to Isabelle to put that in motion, probably been sitting on this 3 star island for ages just thought the dog would show up on his own.

Island is open! Had a ton of rain in the last few days and raining now. Caught 2 of the long sea dudes
