If you have bamboo planted on your island and it is fully grown and has enough space around it then periodically the fossil/ buried item cross will appear near to it and you get a shoot if you dig it up.  This happened when I first had bamboo but has not happened since so perhaps it is seasonal or just happens once.  In previous games it would sprout on its own if not dug up and could become a bit of a problem.

If you buy Nips from Daily Mae she mails you 3 sprouts in the post the next day.  Other than that its Nook Ticket bamboo islands

Wow, my shop outdid itself today. Not only did it give me items I already have (and I don’t have many compared to some), it gave me an item that was for sale YESTERDAY. 
The ATM gave me a repeat of shoes from two days ago as well. 

 

Getting fucked off with the balloon drops (nearly always money), recipes and shop items. So many fucking repeats of the same old bullshit.

Right, @Tetchy has a theory: if you have too much stuff in store and if you've not crafted much and if you've not given much to your neighbors the game limits giving you shit. This could be filed under the thing about clapping to Orville but since I started doing this Nooks and whatnot have been more varied. A bit tin foil hat but it might be worth a go.

I was still getting decent variety and mostly new recipes but my storage was pretty full (1450/1600 I think).

On the other points I can never be bothered to give to neighbours but I do craft a lot

 

I had a bit of a clear out in my pre-work session and am gonna do more later as have far too much bamboo, clothes I will never use and others.  On that point, I have a crap load of bamboo and clay if anyone needs it for crafting.  Stone if possible in return or perhaps iron if you have a surplus but generally free if anyone needs it

 

I also need to bin a lot of trees as have just been dumping them all over the place to make room for projects and flowers.

But this is my storage. This is all I have to work with every day.

Yeah, I'm just utterly sick of how terrible nintendos online implementation is in this, am now watching yet another 30 second "arriving" cut scene and all i want to do is chuck my controller out of the window and switch AC off.  Its why I always try and post items now rather than visit which is sad as we should all be happy travelling other islands.

 

The one thing I wish the dataminers could tell us is when the online is gonna get changed, I suspect never :mad:

Back to work in a minute but first my output from yesterday evening.  Have added a little dig site to the museum, still need to finish the cafe/ shop and do my dino garden.  Think I might incorporate the campsite into the garden too now.

So many ideas, so few suitable items for some of the bits!

Got my cranny upgrade tomorrow and a gold rose sprouted today, woop!

 

I also got a tree standee recipe, which I might get a bit carried away with. It's a standee of a tree in the original AC,  so I might have to make a 'fake' forest out of them.

I know, like I said it's tin foil hat. But the restrictions they've seemingly put in the game with duplication and what not doesn't seem like a Nintendo thing to do. And I've not been caning it compared to some and I've definitely noticed it. I dunno.

Humans are terrible with randomness though and see patterns where there are none.  We all fall for confirmation bias too forgetting the stuff that didn't meet our hypothesis.

 

Like you say there is probably a lot of tin foil hats here, and I hope there is one in the game too!

They also sell different special themed

I could open the gates later but my island is an embarrassment and every house is in the process of being moved for the second but not last time because this game doesn’t like to make symmetry easy.
