Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

All I’ve planned is where the animal houses go, so it’s like their little town area.

90% of my island is just going to be for me, but I haven’t done anything much.

Still need to move my house and museum, but I keep changing my ideas before I’ve even implemented them!

I've hit a bit of a creative block at the moment. Want to do something with the west side of my island (at present it's a bit of a hastily put together hybrid flower farm) but not sure what. Hoping a few days laid back farming/fishing/item collecting will spark an idea.

Also got my new upper floor in my house to decorate. Would *really* appreciate any rattan furniture for trade

I've been trying to find some inspiration and design ideas myself and went to Youtube for some input. There are loads of great stuff out there, but there was one island in particular I really loved. The wedding area might be the best design I've seen in the game so far. Mind blown.

The wedding reception area is a great touch. Really nicely done.
And I like the outdoor restaurant and diner. Means you can’t use the stuff for walls, but you get to use loads more items than indoors!

@spanx what about a movie set? Or professional photography? Maybe backstage area, dressing room etc.

You’ve got the tv cameras, lights, Godzilla, huge robot, the wigs and clothes, makeup tables. Could even do a premier preview room with the vintage camera? Pacific Rim 3?

Make some custom floor tiles for like, tarmac for an area like a star’s mobile trailer. Shame you can’t actually get a trailer...

Everyone's island puts mine to shame. I've done nothing other than plonking houses down and now am annoyed about where they all are. My brother got the game 4 days ago and his island already puts mine to shame with the planning and organising he's already began to do. I need to get my act together. Though still need the terraforming stuff.

Everyone's Animal Crossing experience is very much at their own pace, and in this game more than any other in the series it doesn't matter one dot where you put stuff and what you do in the beginning because you can change everything later on. Forward planning will save you bells, yes, but play the Stalk Market and visit people's islands on here and you'll be rolling in it. (That's how I've justified what some see as 'cheating' by doing that with turnips anyway.)

Bear in mind as well that new buildings are almost inevitable in future updates, so you don't want to use up all your space just yet. Things like a coffee shop, art gallery and some of the other stuff you eventually unlocked in the earlier games are a dead cert. I might have to boot out some of my villagers to make room.

No spoilers but both of those probably won't be separate buildings.

See, to me that island is impressive and everything, but they've crammed so much stuff into it that it just comes off as seeming very unnatural, almost like a theme park or a model village or something, not an island. I know it sounds stupid to accuse a videogame of being superficial, but I prefer something a bit more naturalistic. Less is more, yo!

Also, at several points the bloke bumps into stuff or tries to sit down/interact with things but can't, which is cardinal sin number one, in my opinion. I don't like the headless mannequins, either. They really do make it feel like a doll's house.

I'm definitely not envious.

I get what you're saying and I mostly agree. What I loved about that particular island was the different themes they've laid out, and separately they're awesome. The island as a whole is a clusterfuck of ideas, tho.

Has anyone made a kitchen in their house? I’ve got lots of kitchen appliances, but nothing to put them on!  What’s everyone using?

Cardboard boxes mostly, I need to get around to crafting more ironwood dressers and customising them to white to tidy it up a bit more

One of my residents has a really sweet 4 square kitchen island with built I'm sink that I'd really like for my own kitchen.

At the mo I'm using iron tables and log benches as 'work surfaces' to put all my kitchen tat on.

White iron work surfaces are what I use for my kitchen surfaces too; I'd have nothing otherwise. They're alwight. I want proper surfaces for every room soon, real lack at the mo. Think that might be changing soon though.

Jesus Christ. Every single item or recipe from balloons etc has been a dupe like 8 times in a row now. Except for a giant teddy bear which can go fuck itself.

My creativity is dead because I’m getting no new surprises to work around! Had to content myself with turning the prison camp muddy...

I've got a lecture desk, which looks a bit like a unit when reversed...
