Purple is double white right? I have quite a few planted but not getting much back.

Exactly. I have a lot planted and it's still very slow. I get two or three new white every day and a purple maybe two or three times a week if that. What I really want is blue roses

My nips are 174 but I think it's gonna spike like a good un tomorrow/Thursday morning.

I've decided I want a dress up room. Who's Ables have costumes like firefighter outfit, mummy head, etc?

My Able's has a comedians outfit, pilots outfit and Royal Jacket in today. Also has boxing headgear and eye patch as something slightly more unusual.

Wait. How do you get purple? I thought you need to breed red and blue for hybrid red and then 2x hybrid red = purple ?

My 2 purple pansies have both appeared in my blue only section.  They quite possibly come from the hybrid red route you mention too

Interesting. Thank you. None of these flower breeding guides are entirely correct!

Do you know if Green cosmos come from two hybrid yellow (from red and yellow?)

Green cosmos? I thought that there were only green mums and I don't have any greens yet, sorry

The problem with flowers seems to be a few things...

1. There are likely a few ways to get the same result in some cases

2. Either the spawn range of new flowers is huge from their source or there is a pure random element at play too. I've had spawns that make no sense from the surrounding colours. Both are terrible ideas if true as they make learning and understanding hard.

3. If it rains then _any_ existing flowers may breed on your island not just the ones you are watering for breeding, which cuts down your chances of getting what you want.

Where can I (my wife) find the current go to guide for hybrid flowers please?

I've been using this one at the moment https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2020-03-31-animal-crossing-flowers-breeds-colours-cross-pollination-hybrid-flowers-new-horizons-7018

Can anyone spot my massive new flower breeding garden (and orchards below)?

I've seen a spawn that was not adjacent to either of its parents, it was just one space further away though.  I remember being puzzled by it as there was space for it to have been adjacent.  I'll keep an eye out in the mornings and get a pic of any strange ones

Been avoiding this thread so as to avoid any spoilers, being late to the game, and came here to rant a bit...

My wife started playing the game when it arrived, with my 6 year old.  Actually, she started playing as a joint account, but then realised it made more sense to play separately, and since my daughter chose the name and appearance of the first player, set up a new profile on my Switch for herself.  We both then put in  a good few hours, getting bigger houses and got fully into the egg/bunny event, make all of the furniture etc.  Enjoying it more than any other AC game since the Gamecube version, except, my daughter, who doesn't play it much, and does silly things like eat the only pear we've ever seen, eats fruit and destroys rocks and doesn't really care about collecting 30 things for Tom, and, well, you know, is a 6 year old.

Of course, I've just found out she is the 'resident representative' for our island, which basically means that I'm a second class citizen, playing as cut down version of the game, essentially forced to co-habit the same island.

So, Nook is still operating out of a tent, and my choice?  Suck it up, play my daughters profile, or delete everything and start again.

What an absolutely absurd design decision by Nintendo. :(

Every time I spend ages on something that looked like a good idea, I come away sighing about the 500k and best part of a week it’s going to take to fix it all.

THIS. THIS EVERY TIME.

Relocating buildings is a little annoying (I think Nexiv was on about this a few days back as well.)

We're building our villagers into essentially a holiday camp in the south east corner of the Island. My first couple of houses weren't very carefully placed, and now I find myself needing to move them a few squares, but only a few squares. Which means I need to transplant them way out of the way, wait overnight, then transfer them back to the new spot (and wait overnight again.) Annoying!

Maybe sacrilege here but you could use a little time trav to get back to where you are a little quicker. Set your switch clock back the number of days you've played so far (or the number of overnight things you've achieved (like getting a house, or a shop) and then restart. Now get to a 'this will happen tomorrow point' and save, exit, move clock forward one day and continue.
