I needed to take a break from endless fishing and switched to bug catching during the day. If you breed some of the rarer flowers in an area you tend to get good returns and it's faster than fishing. At night you can switch back to fishing.

Just got this today, haven't played one since the original. Any tips for a relative newbie would be much appreciated.

 

I did make the mistake of starting a game for my daughter not realising we couldn't have separate saves/islands. Is there any way of her playing with me with her own character on one Switch?

You can both have characters. Just start a new profile. The primary character will be the one to advance the island progress (Which is only the first part of the game anyway).

 

Top tips.

Play at your own pace.

Talk to Tom and do what he asks to progress the island and unlock new stuff.

just did the bathroom today.

now I can do fences I guess I don’t need the wall of fish, but I like their lights.

I definitely got a lot more than six when I wished on a load. They don’t all appear at the same time though; from memory they kind of washed up throughout the morning.

I've had great fishing for big fish on the Nook Miles Islands, edge of the dock by the seaplane - I've caught two marlins and two tuna in my last six or seven visits to islands.

I'm sharing my daughter's island. She sent me a letter that said "OK Boomer!"

I sent her a frying pan back.

I haven't played that much. I had the original DS game that I played for years. 

 

A small complaint but why can't I craft fish food in bulk? 

 

I tried catching spiders yesterday. Infuriating.

Questions:

 

Ozzie has the face on with someone on my island, what happens? Will one of them leave?

 

Can you upgrade bridges/inclines to better ones later in after you've built them?

 

Will anything bad happen if I don't water my flowers or will they just not 'breed'?
