@Uncle Mike here is my predicament (this is after lessening the gap by one unit):

I mean, it's fine. I'll make a hoppy island bit with streams around it instead. It's fine, honestly.

Think they really missed the mark with the fishing thing. The phrase “tournament” was a fucking joke lol. 3 minutes to catch as many as you can? That’s a challenged, not a tournament. When the banner ran accord the screen saying “the tournament is over” I was really confused.

A proper tournament would have been to catch fish all day, with a prize at the end for the quantity, and points you could spend on a choice of items. And choose what you get. And then a choice of a few challenges you could take part in (like the 3 minute thing) for extra points. And a few rare fish you could only catch today as well. That would have been exciting.

This was the first day I didn’t play that much.

Between the ubiquity of of eggs, perishable fishing rods and new 'quick dash' rules, I noped out of the fishing tournament pretty quickly this morning. Oh well.

Anyway, I reeeeaallllyy hope that this incarnation of Animal Crossing was deliberately released in a not-exactly-finished state, and that the rolling updates will keep the content flowing. Having played New Leaf on the 3DS, this feels a bit like moving from GameCube Animal Crossing to Wild World on the DS, where for all the added features and redesigns for improved usability you miss a fair amount of content from the previous game.

I think it's safe to say that more than a few characters will join the island through DLC.

Brewster along with an art wing for the museum seems to be very much on the cards at least

Ables sells them. If you want one I can get you one, but they should come round eventually.

Cheers dude, but I'll wait. I plan to play this game more or less daily for at least 12 months, so patiently waiting for all the unlockables to me is very much an important part of the AC experience.

Yeah I can’t help but feel some people in this thread are forgetting that Animal Crossing is something you really need to pace yourself with. Playing it for 100+ hours in 3 weeks and then saying it’s short on content is a bit u wot?!

Play how you like of course, but yeah, don’t expect to not burn out on it I guess.

I am sad to report that there was a break in at the zoo :(

Items of the gift shop were stolen, and an enclosure damaged leading to the escape of some of the umbrellas.

Two have since been recovered, but the others are still missing; presumed sold :(

Currently the suspect is an almost 6 year old who cannot be questioned until the morning.
Authorities are undecided on the consequences, but confiscation of certain Bunny Day items is being considered.

That's the odd thing to me; I've put 130 hours in but I've only got 3 rooms. My town isn't landscaped or anything. I still haven't had KK perorm yet. It's bizarre. A bit , anyway.

It's also compounded because we're in an age of permanent connectivity so when we're not absorbing these experiences ourselves were absorbing everyone else experiences, good or bad. Whether we like to think we're not pliable by other people's opinions and whatnot we really are.

Personally it's going to take something with big brass bollocks to top this for game of the year, if only because it's exactly what I need right now. Despite the Bunny Day and fishing tournament feeling a bit half hearted (I did enjoy making the abomination of the egg cave, mind) and the really, REALLY odd quality of life issues it's been something that doesn't require me to think too hard, and doesn't really challenge me or make me all radgey and is just a kind of soothing balm; a lullaby in a world that's a cacaphonic maelstrom of shit, bile and spite and by fucking god if any of you start bringing that shit in here I swear to god I will make you fucking regret it TO THE END OF YOUR DAYS*

Anyway, Jesus is looking forward to have a word with the rabbit tomorrow.

*Nah, not really. I love your faces. SMOOCHES.

Edit: god damnit, this was supposed to go after Bojangles post. Buggersocks.
