To all those complaining and ranting about eggs in the most chill game ever, just learn to live with the idea that they are just Dab-level shit fish and that you can make an egg party dress that you can flip for £7500 if you have three of each.

I'm stockpiling bait for rare fish catching at the pier, not for this tournament.

 

The first fish I catch is an egg. Why start a fishing tournament during this egg nonsense! 

 

After a few attempts over traded in points for 3 different things, I don't think I'll bother doing any more.

I also just unlocked furniture pattern customisation (Something I'd forgotten was in the game). Spoiler for  how you do it.

 

Once the tailor shop opens make friends with Sable by talking to her every day. It'll take a while but eventually after hearing the full story of the Sable sisters you'll get given the ability. Also making friends with Sable is great anyway. Even with no reward

Okay, the tournament is nothing like I imagined. 500 bells to enter each tiny little thing?
I thought it’d just go on all day, and then you could choose from prizes at the end depending on how many you’d caught. But it doesn’t even let you spend a portion of your points. Just takes them all at once.

I've done 3 tournaments now (caught 9, 9, and 7 fish so far) and not a single egg. But I am baiting every fish. If you're running around trying to catch pre-spawned fish, I assume you're taking the same random roll on getting an egg as any other time.

 

It's quite lucrative. There's no way I'm running enough tourneys to get the supposed 300 points though.

It takes 10 points for each prize.

You can also eat them instead of fruit if you need to uproot trees during a landscaping session.

 

11 fish is my best so far, tourney wise.

Amazing. I have 9 points to spare. But I seriously cba. All the prizes are fishing related. The only one I cared about was the wand for my museum, but it’s pot luck what you get. I got a fucking massive cooler box ffs. And you basically have to use bait. There’s no point running around looking for fish. 
 

 

In other news, I have a super cool item in my shop today.

They were both better in Pocket Camp. The fishing tournament was based around the sizes of fish caught and had friends leaderboards. So an actual tournament.

 

This is grinding for some fairly uninspiring rewards so far.

Well I’m enjoying it, but then I’m just taking it chill rather than feeling the need to “grind” out x amount of  points. Had some pretty nice rewards that I like such as a tackle bag, fishing rod rack, fish drying rack, anchor statue and some fancy clothes. Will nicely help decorate around my pier. :)

 

Been sticking to the ocean since the two eggs I’ve gotten in several runs have both been caught in rivers, not bothered stocking up on bait either because who has time for that.
