A couple of towns I've visited have had stripy light houses.  How did you get these, I don't seem to have the option to customise my plain one

Edit: never mind. Thought you were talking about your own house.

 

As for lighthouses, I think the colour is pre-determined. They're not customisable. My one is yellow. Most of the items you order with Nook miles are different colours for different people, it would seem. Just luck of the draw.

Mine was from the nook shop. Was striped when I bought it.

I know in New Leaf the villagers wore some of my designs, think it was ones you put on display in the shop.

Got my town to 5 Stars today and unlocked the Gold Watering Can & Gold Slingshot Recipes on the same day! I’m happy to make people Gold Tools if they provide the Matts, it’s 1 Gold Nugget + a normal version of the tool

You can see what colour it's going to be in the catalogue, can't you? I don't think it'll change. If you want a different-coloured one you'll have to get someone else to order it for you.

Yeah they still break but as an example every day I have to craft 5 normal Watering Cans to water all my flowers, today I did the whole lot with one golden can so they certainly last a great deal longer

You can buy KK songs from the machine in the Town Hall. You then have to register them to your music player when they arrive.

That’s what I thought, but all I could do was hang it on the bloody wall.

Opening my gates after a couple of days of terraforming meant it was not safe for the general public. I'd strongly advise you to bring a ladder though as the Nook construction company is well behind on the dozens of inclines I'm currently missing! Seriously, you can't even get to the shop currently without a ladder.

 

Pardon the mess but feel free to bring fossil and recipe swaps. Nook twins have a lovely cardboard box, lawnmower and fragrance defuser. Also the bag seller is in town with a nice tool bag and some snazzy shoes.

 

Oh... and Turnips are 415 bells...

Maybe a joke and exaggeration but if you really want lots of inclines be aware they’re limited to 8. As are bridges. 8 of each.

Oh dear... better make some more spare ladders then! Bridges are solvable by stepping stops to hop across... Think I might be able to cope with 8 inclines in the current design, might need to scale a few things back I had planned for the big flower breeding field once I'm done with it.
