It's possible to 'farm' recipes by farming balloons. The trick is force.spawning balloons.

Personally I had all but two recipes (the petal floor and wall) before starting that and got them pretty quickly.

Ive has better luck at catching them by approaching, readying the net then waiting a brief moment to make sure I’m in line with their movement before releasing. 
 

Walking up and jabbing A was literally netting me nothing.

Just a PSA because I have had a couple of friends who have not realised this: you can bang rocks up to 8 times for drops. More tips:

 

1. Clear all weeds and flowers from around rock - nothing will drop in a non-empty space.

2. Use a shovel - you can use an axe, but the axe animation means you can never get more than 7 drops.

3. With the rock as the centre of the compass, stand at the south-west corner and dig one hole to the south and one hole to the west - these brace you against knock-backs throwing off the animation.

4. With the holes at your back, equip the shovel, face the rock diagonally and press A as fast as you can until 8 items have dropped - if you have done the above correctly all you need to do is press A, no need to touch the stick at all.

Decided to start dabbling in dealing crack after my windfall yesterday in the Stalk Market. Had to invest wisely but I did treat the den to an upgrade.

I “built” a new game last night if anyone wants to try it at some point.
It’s a sort of mash up between catch the flag and bulldog (if any of you remember that from the playground), and involves that most treasured past time....hitting people with a net. 
 

@bradigor do you want the garbage floor?

The cherry blossom recipes just aren't dropping for me, I've only had 2 and I've been farming non-bunny balloons like crazy. All they are dropping is bells!

 

Looking at comments from others it looks like something is broken as I'm not the only one.

 

Oh well, I've got a few stacks of blossom for next year, hopefully it works then!

 

(I've got all the bastard egg recipes, I'd prefer to have all the blossom and none of the egg...)

With great power comes great irresponsibility. This terraforming will be the destruction of my island but at least it’s allowed me to donate three more fish to the museum that were caught in my new water ‘features’.
 

Not that it matters anymore this week but my turnips are a spectacular 30 bells this morning.

Damn didn't realise cherry blossoms stopped at Easter too, still got a few recipes to get. Maybe for the collectors out there its worth farming up some extra petals, so if you don't get the recipe for something you want, one of your friends can make it for you.

 

PSA for those with the plaza upgrade:



Paying to change the appearance of your house exterior (roof colour and letterbox) prevents you from ordering a new room on the same day. So don't do like me, I paid off a loan and then changed exterior appearance, now I have to wait an extra day for more storage.
