Where do you all keep your excess wood, rocks, etc? I have a ton on my beach and I think that is stopping me getting a 3-star rating.

Bin em. Sell em. Get rid. Also if you've filled your inventory you prolly should get rid of shit you're never going to use. I cleared out a fuck load of clothes and house shit I'm never ever going to use. And I can always buy it back. Just be brutal.

I finished the game!

Big endgame spoilers:

Spoiler

KK Slider arrived this morning in a wee cutscene and the game credits rolled as he played his little song to the villagers! Now every Saturday he's going to play a concert... unfortunately I work late on Saturdays so it might be a while before I can catch one :(

And this is the point where you unlock terraforming! Just paths at first, but as anyone who's visited my island knows, it could use some paths!

Kind of suprised to have maxed out the games progression already, though to be fair I've been totally hammering it the past week and a bit. Racked up over 155 hours so far (although of course some of that is from sitting afk). So I think its fair to say that that's good value for money even if I stopped there - which of course I won't!

There's still some stuff I know is left to unlock too, a Nooks Cranny upgrade, more terraforming tools, and I haven't seen any of the visiting characters like the bug guy who I assume will start coming from today.

Of course, it may be the end... but really its just the beginning!

So I dug the money hole but it won’t give me the option to plant money in it again. I haven’t filled it in. Any ideas?

You need a bag of bells in your inventory, ideally 10k and a shovel in your hand to do it

I store it all in my house inventory.  There are recipes that use lots of materials and you'll be annoyed if you end up selling a bunch and then need 90 stone to make an arch (like I did)!

Also, expand your house, I have 1600 storage now

Personally I wouldn't get rid of any normal wood you have, there's tons of recipes that use it and its harder to come by than the other woods. Stones, clay, iron etc also have some recipes later on that use a ton of them so be wary of throwing them away. I just keep all my resources in storage, even if that means I've been having to get house upgrades just to have enough space!

I did a couple of fishing runs this lunchbreak. Given that AC rng is run by an AI that hates humanity it's difficult to be certain about anything but it felt loads better.

1. Two runs netted me 3 water eggs (Which to be honest is probably a bit too low for the non-obsessives)

2. There seemed to be far less size 3 fish compared to previously but there seemed more chance of getting a fish than an egg. Again. RNG in this game tends to be far more random than most.

3. My runs were back to their usual speed.

Testing continues tonight. Flub needs to pay for two more inclines. Fishing hasn't felt this good since the event started. Fingers crossed.

Sorry I assumed he meant sticks because normal wood is second only to fucking gold nuggets in my game.

You’ve basically finished the prologue/tutorial, and what follows is essentially the point in the game where earlier installments have begun.

I spent the first few days shaking a tree, either getting a stick or not and then moving on. Days later I found out the megaton that you just keep shaking and up to 8 drop out. Life changing mind blown moment.

Hmm, I just checked my storage and I currently have approx the same amount of each wood type stockpiled.

Clay is the most valuable resource I think.

I just can't farm enough of it. I wanted to make a bunch of brick walls (need at least 150 ideally) but it would take forever.

At least I have terraforming now and paths. I'm unsure what to do though. I was planning on making an outdoor boxing arena (have most of the stuff)

But the seating will take forever as I can only buy one double plastic chair each day.

I had tons of everything on my beach. Ended up getting it all in my house. Still don't get why you cannot access you storage for crafting, rather than needing it in your pockets.

Absolutely. Here's a question; if you shake a tree and a branch falls out immediately does that mean it doesn't contain furniture?

Really struggle for normal wood. Much more hard and soft (lol) than regular.

There's various QOL things they need to add. A lot of it might be a bit nit picky but that's only because they break up the flow of an incredible game.

I'm pretty sure if a tree has furniture it's always the first to fall out. Stick would then follow.

Grew my first pears this morning. So that’s all the fruit. In past games I’d be farming them like crazy, but I can’t really be bothered, actually tempted to only keep one of each.

my fourth villager is literally a foxy lady, and I’ve got label in my square asking my to do a vacation themed outfit.

Loads to do!

Controversial opinion, but isn’t this game sort of shit? The writing and lots of elements of it are lovely. It feels like it’s been made with a lot of love and if you’re willing to put the time in you can do a lot of stuff.

BUT... is there any gameplay elements you could say are genuinely exciting or enjoyable? Chop tree, shake tree, fish, hit rock. It often feels like a grind in some ways.

I know this is Animal Crossing, this is what it is. But yeah.

I seriously can’t believe you can’t split stacks beyond ‘Grab 1’.

Is that the public stool or something? Red and blue plastic seat? I have one in storage I think if it helps?
