I wanted to move my shop as it wasn't in line with the other houses. 

 

Little did I know it doesn't disappear when you buy the new kit.

 

I basically want to move it down one grid space so it won't let me build. 

 

Very annoying. Now I need to place it out the way. Wait a couple days. Spend another 50k buying another kit. Wait another couple days.

I'd suggest you might want to just leave it where it is until you get the island editor, because you may want to change your mind yet again

Everyone’s island I’ve visited from here have been so awesome! Nicely laid out with paths and flowers. I just kind of plonked my houses in areas.  When I can finally move them I think I’m going to have to get out a pencil and paper and plan the perfect little town  

 

I love this game.  Are we closing GOTY yet?

Thanks. Could you lock the header bars as when you get further down the list they vanish off screen, and its hard to remember what column is what.

Also now I'm torn about which demigod to swear alliegiance too. There's an evil presence in Pazuzu, Colin at Nexiv's and I'm sure someone was worshipping their godzilla. Can I be a pan-worshipper or am I doomed to eternal damnation from them all? *AC sweating brow emote*

 

Talking of emotes, they're great aren't they? With the animals it adds so much character and with other players - because the ingame typing's so slow - they're a fast way to react as well as being funny. Tip for emotes, you can press a button when the emote wheel is up to change what direction they are assigned to, and that also is how you handle getting more emotes than the wheel can fit. Never realised there were so many, yay!

 

Tip for typing without the app, I use the Switch pro controller and its a lot faster scrolling through the virtal keyboard than the joycons. Need to get my phone sorted and get the app because having conversations is really painful! 

 

That sucks about the moving buildings limitation, I was planning to move my house 1 row back to stop snagging on the letterbox all the time, but now I dunno if it's worth it.

 

Interesting that quite a few players have really crammed in their villagers into a little town area, I've done the opposite and have spread them as far apart as possible. I like to give them little themed gardens, but now my villager count is rising I'm ruining the wild vibe of my island with house plots all over the place. Maybe in the future I'll have to condense them a bit, I'm up to 9 houses/plots and running out of real estate without destroying features I've already built

 

I still have orange and pink roses for sale, 3 for 10k. Lyrical Donut can vouch for them and the not at all shady dealings in the woods...

Got all the stuff sorted for the three new homes, stuck them over the water though, first bit if land is just for us OG islanders.  
Gave my man Kid Cat an awful hat, but he’s put it on, it somehow shrank to fit him and looks amazing.

@Alan Stock I missed the post about moving limitations, but my wife's just discovered that when you get to a certain level of house upgrade, you can move your letterbox (she had similar layout issues.) It's now some distance from her house and all the running around issues are solved.

I've spent the last few hours lying on my bed fishing with the iPad sat next to me doing a Life on Mars rewatch. I've come to terms with the size 3 fish mostly being eggs now. I stocked up on fishing rods

Fuck those eggs. I haven’t come to terms with it. What were Nintendo thinking? They’ve totally been shitting on the experience of the feel good game of the moment. I hope that they take all the negative feedback on board and never do it again. 
 

Why 12 days and not a single day? So soon after release too. Could have had 12 days with the option of turning it off and on if you’d want to participate. Rammed down our throats instead. I hope Nintendo don’t ruin Xmas by having some demented Elf force us to dig, fish, mine, chop candy canes  for the whole of December

On the topic of villager locations I’m not on my second wave of moving almost all of them.

 

I initially scattered them around the first bit of the island but it was a bit of a mess and didn’t suit my structured mind. So then I moved the first 5 who had moved in to a line across the top  of the river behind my town hall and continues this line with new arrivals all the way across the map.

 

But now with terraforming I’ve carved them out a terraced residential district. They’ll all have front and side gardens with fences around, got two moved. So 8 more days to get them shifted.

 

its also meant destroying one bridge and two inclines I’d previously made. The wait is maddening but will be worth it.

I've kind of made peace with the eggs. As someone else mentioned, you can craft them into beds for easy money, or use them as gifts for your animals, or as steroids to allow you to move trees. The sky ones can be ignored and I just leave any mid-sized fish shadow alone now. If I'm fishing for something in particular I'll always bring bait anyway, which negates the issue.

 

Anyway, who's going all out on nips in the morning? I've only got 150k in the bank but I'm hoping for a low buying price. The Nook bastards have been offering me sub-80 bell prices all week, so if they're anything higher than that tomorrow then I'm gonna make mittens out of the pair of them.

I started by spreading everyone out with a plan to make a unique themed area for each of them. Then I decided to make a street with everyone together. Plan A was better and now I’m broke.

Doesn’t matter, though. Everything will be in its right place by 2024. No rush. As Bob Ross taught me, there are no mistakes, only happy little accidents. Apart from Bunny Day. Bunny Day was a mistake.

I'm torn as to my next move. My island is a mess, so tempted to wait until I have got to terraforming before giving it a theme, but part of me still want to do stuff now.
