Thanks to everyone who visited, hope you got what you wanted.

Anyone who is looking for cardboard boxes should check the recycling box, I've got two in the last three days from there.

OK, I'll probably open up my island for a bit later. In the meantime, you can add this code to the list: 3282-1121-1261

Sorry for asking something that's probably been asked a bunch of times before...

If I get this for my kids, do they just log in with their individual profiles to have their own islands, or is there a way for them to play on the same save and visit each other on the same island?

You have to share an island and you have to have a primary account. To progress the infrastructure of the island the primary owner has to finish things off. But otherwise it's pretty open to how much each person can do. Local multiplayer is a bit whack though.

There's only one Island per switch, and the progress is gated behind whoever is the primary resident. So you'll all be on the same island but unless whoever sets up the game initially does all the tasks needed to unlock the upgrades they won't get done even if the secondary people are playing more. I think.

I'd like the hourglass but don't think we are friends. Could you open to all later and I'll pop over and add you as a friend as I do?

I’ll just close my gate and re-open to anyone and post a new code. That’ll work won’t it?

Edit: 73D69

nice

Loving the pictures of your crackden, @bradigor.  I bought a frugal outfit, trampy looking top and trousers full of hours basically, from Mabel this morning with you in mind if you want it.

Yeah, that'd be boss thanks. Will try and get on later properly, or tomorrow. :)

The teacup ride, for 5k Nook Miles, is... unessential. Unrideable, dammit.

Is this "never played an Animal Crossing game" friendly? Getting sucked in my screenshots and all the chat of island sharing!

Yes - very accessible.

So you pretty much can’t do anything when you have guests. Like empty your sodding bags anywhere...

My new houses aren’t accepting the items I’ve built to go inside them either.

You can decorate your home if they're not physically in it. You can access storage, use your inventory, chop trees, dig stuff up, plant flowers. Def limiting having guests though, Butterwell would be about double the size if it wasn't for the lovely socialising aspect of the game, probably. :D

Basically it's: no outdoors decorating, no museum donations.

And no giving items to build houses. Except it won’t even let me do it now people are gone. I select exterior items and no option to submit comes up, despite me having several items.

You don't need to submit them, just place them outside the house. :)

Sure others know this, but I chopped a tree down and didn’t dig up the stump. Found a citrus long horned beetle on it. Blathers says he likes to feast on citrus trees.

We need a PSA on every page for new players that running through flowers breaks them, and that they're crafting ingredients/cosmetic so can set things back a few days.

EVERY PAGE. :quote:

Gonna leave my gate open while I watch moto gp repeat “live” so I might not be paying attention.

Daft question time again.

Is there anything that I should really not sell off in the early stages of game.  I've only just said I want a home building and taken the loan.

It says it will start tomorrow so does this mean that I physically have to wait until tomorrow?

If I drop my stuff on the floor in my tent will it stay there?

What happens when I eat stuff?

Last night, I put a skeleton outside my son's tent where he planted some flowers* he is now confused as to how it happened and thinks he grew a skeleton

*he placed pansies instead of planting them

You can dig up trees and smash a boulder (for one piece of stone and a fleeing insect, should one have been living there.)

I'm also open now to all.

My resident just told me happy homeroom is going to pay a visit tomorrow!

Gates still open for shopping and tailor for my Switch friends list. Sorry if I don't have you added to my list yet, the first post friends code list is unworkable/huge. That communal spreadsheet with forum names, ingame name and town is sorely needed.

As the primary player I have to trigger the tasks. For example, after helping Nook I was give the task of placing the museum tent -then my kids and I

get to share the task of collecting the bits the museum owner needs to upgrade the museum.

The local play is OK. You just have to share being in 'control' wisely, I suppose it's teaching the joys of collaboration and team work.
