I guess I figured she was long dead. I know her best from that poster being in Shawshank which started in the 30s so she gets lumped in by association. All the more surprising to see how well she was looking into her old age.

I always felt as though Raquel Welch was pretty self aware and liked to poke fun at her sex symbol status, never taking it too seriously. One of my fave films of hers is Fathom. It’s pure nineteen-sixties froth. She doesn’t get top billing, which is mad. She’s clearly the star of the show.

Full film is on YouTube!

That's some good parachute folding technique. Richard Briers and Raquel Welch - together at last!

Richard Belzar, Detective Munch from Law and Order, died.

Spooky. I was just thinking about him for the first time in ages thirty minutes before I read this.

It was in the context of wondering whether there were TV shows where the same character appears as a regular from a different show but isn't the headline character in the previous or current show. I'm sure there are others but Munch was the only one I could recall.

I enjoyed Homicide back when it was shown on late night C4. Must go back and see if it holds up.

The Munch extended universe famously touches loads of shows, and then links up with the St Elsewhere universe, which all exists in the mind of an autistic kid as shown in the season finale, but then St Elsewhere crossovers bring in Cheers and Frasier and eventually Munch himself. Plenty online about it, here’s one list of everything affected.

Aye, I've seen that before. Puts the MCU to shame.

Burt Bacharach has died aged 94 :(

I can't believe the death of Burt Bacharach has only received 3 greens (four now).

Absolute songwriting genius. Responsible for so many earworms.

Tom Sizemore elevated everything he was in. He was a great actor.

Pity he had many demons that basically ruined his career.
