Oh man. I have a soft spot for James Caan. I absolutely adore Rollerball. That's up for a rewatch on my next night off. (Anything 70's futuristic tends to be full of orange, and with those bulbous rounded fonts - good times). But he seemed like a genuinely good guy.

Soft spot for him in weaker films like Alien Nation and Eraser.

Obviously him as Sonny is his iconic role but Thief is a bonafide classic and arguably his best performance.

His performance in The Program is fantastic as well.

Was about to recommend Alien Nation, which while a solid 7/10 low budget film, is elevated by the performances of him and Mandy Patinkin.

I haven't seen Alien Nation since its VHS release in the late 80s. My strongest memory is the scene where Caan explains to Patinkin how a condom works. It's funny the things that stay with you when you're 11.

Oh damn, he was so good in 24. As much as I love the scene where he's in the back of the car screaming "That's Jack Bauer!!", my other favourite is when he's trying to make himself relevant again after his fall from his grace and he's in his hotel room deciding which colour tie to wear.

Tony Sirico passing away being reported by some of his Sopranos co-stars on twitter. How could anyone not love Paulie Walnuts? RIP

He looked really frail in any cast reunion stuff going back years now.

Gregory Itzin died during emergency surgery. Vice President/President Logan on 24, as well as parts on loads of shows and movies over the years. Even 5 characters across 3 Star Treks.

Nooooo! I loved him in 24, he made himself into the biggest human slime on television.

Oh man! I loved The Sopranos and he was one of my favourites in the show. He could be menacing but also hilarious. I'll post this in his honour, the whole clip is worth a watch but I remember watching the night it aired over here and the part I've timestamped had me and the ex in a fit of hysterics.

R.I.P

Monty Norman, Bond theme composer, died aged 94.

Well, he did a bit of the main riff and cashed in forever. Poor John Barry did 95% of the actual work.

Later version of what Norman wrote:
