Gotta admit...I would have preferred a more gritty artstyle...but what they have produced looks great. I love that Axel is all old and grizzled and Blaze looks as hot as ever

It's not April 1st so this is actually really happening then?

I'm more shocked than excited. But I'm really fucking excited.

Wtf is happening at SEGA? They've put out a good Sonic game, the Yakuza series is doing well critically and commercially, they've re-released the Shenmue games and now a new Streets of Rage

Some Japanese studios regained their mojo. See also: Capcom.

Capcom have always been there or there abouts, but SEGA have been co king things up for themselves for over a decade, don't get me wrong, I'm pleased at all of this, buts it's fucking weird!

The art style reminds me of Wonderboy: Dragon’s Trap, and yup it’s the same team.

Great stuff, although obv Streets of Rage was a low-rent Final Fight.

them be fightin' words. (appropriately enough)

Please don't be shit. I can get used to the graphical style if it plays well.

Really hope they get Yuzo Koshiro on board too. Even if he goes all avant-garde and does another SoR3 style OST!

I would sort of agree that SoR1 is 'just' a solid Final Fight clone with a moody art style and amazing music. SoR2, however, is the best pure scrolling beat-em-up ever made.

4 has a lot to live up to, even discounting the impossibly high standard of the series' music. I worry for it. Still, I'm definitely intrigued!

Man, I love the look and I trust Lizardcube with the game after the great job they did with Dragons Trap.

But the music has to be on point otherwise it's all for nothing.

EDIT: Guard Crush (the other developer) made the very poor Streets of Fury on XBLIG:

Excitement lessened.

I would have taken this for a SoR2 remake had it not said 4 at the end.

From what I can see Axel and Blaze’s movesets are the same as 2 and all the enemies are from 2 too.

It’s not a complaint, just a bit of a surprise.

1st reaction: OMG WTF BBQ SOR OMG OMG

2nd reaction: oh those sprites look like very flash game :(

I hope it's good. Anyone with an ounce of sense would have picked up the unofficial (and fucking brilliant) SoR Remake and put that out years ago.

Edit: @grindmouse confirmed for having a weird (some may say: utterly wrong) taste in games

The art is truly awful. Utterly charmless 2D and the way the characters move doesn't look right either.

The should have sorted the remake that Bombergames did instead.

Would have prefered pixel art though.

Would prefer chip music in the trailer :D

I actually don't mind the art style - although pixels would be interesting. And it's never going to happen, but online multiplayer would be a great addition.

Awesome news hopefully it will be a success so Sega can revisit some of the older classic titles like Out Run, Space Harrier & Jet Set Radio.
