Please can someone explain how to do this move to me...

In this video at 55 seconds he says you can juggle enemies by grabbing them and then pressing forwards and attack to then kick them into the air. Every time I try it he just headbutts them?!? How do I launch them with the kick?

You have to hold forward while pressing attack. The neutral attack is the headbutt^_^

I love this game so much. Three runs done now all on normal and I'm getting a real feel for the game. First one was with my daughter, and I tried out all characters, second with new Adam, and third with SOR2 Axel. On a SOR Blaze run now. It's super fun to go through with the retro characters and a lovely bit of fan service. The new characters all seem fantastic and I will steadily try and go through the game with everyone and increase difficulties as I get better. My daughter is back over the latter part of the week so we will be doing another run in 2 player as well.

Very much enjoying playing online with randoms - trying to work my way through Hard on Arcade mode just now and everyone seems super courteous, making sure to let you have food if you've got lower health etc. I think it helps a lot that you're very reliant on one another to get through. Also: Floyd on the Y Tower elevator stage is a *beast*. I love being all "I got this", and casually hurling everyone out the window while my partner chills.

Has anyone got any experience playing the Switch version online? I've not signed up to Nintendo's online thing so I'm currently splitting my time between Switch for solo play and PC gamepass version for online multiplayer. The PC online stuff is fairly buggy (not the gameplay per-se, more that getting into a match can be a pain, and I've had a few issues with the game getting perma-paused) so I'm thinking I may just stump up the cash and play on Switch provided its not significantly worse.

Finished it on Hardest. I'd used Floyd to get through 9, 10 and 11, but found him too big and slow for the last one so I had to switch back to Adam.

It's a long stage to have to keep repeating, but at least the tougher parts are early on and the bosses

Spoiler

are probably the easiest in the game, especially Ms. Y on her own, but even the huge machine is a bit of a joke.

The hyper armour stuff from the enemies is bullshit, what are you supposed to do when a bunch of enemies have it, run around the screen avoiding them or trade damage and die from the overwhelming numbers?

Anyone completed Boss Rush yet? I've got to the equivalent stage 7 boss a few times but that combo of Estel and Commisioner is difficult.

Fighting Diva over and over is annoying though. Terrible idea for a first boss, so much AoE spam and random armour bullshit. Even at max range, you hit her with the pipe and if the game decides shes got armour you are eating a 4 hit combo no matter what. There's no tell, no warning, so really, unless you are throwing weapons you might as well not bother. I don't know what the equivalent difficultly of boss rush mode is, but she takes an absurd amount of damage even from Axel.

Can't you just bait the electric snake attack, then combo or grab her after that? She doesn't seem to be able to get armour after she's done an attack.

I've been playing Mania difficulty. Took me a couple of attempts to beat Stage 1, but I got straight through to Stage 4 last night. It's tough but definitely do-able. The hardest thing is trying to keep those black-shirted cops away from their stun-guns. When there's just one on screen it's fine, where there's two plus a load of shield guys or the Commissioner, it's a bloody nightmare! Dodging a crowd of whipped-up Galciaaaaas at the end of Stage 3 is tough too.

It seems random.  sometimes even if you bait the attack she'll do an immediate double kick (with armour) and if the second hit connects she hits you twice again with the snake. Going for grabs is a safe bet but as stated using a weapon like the pipe,  it rarely connects clean. If you do connect and she's armored, even right at the max range, you are fucked. I find the bosses in this a bit strange, the toughest ones come early on. Nora is far easier than Diva or the Commissioner and Shiva barely troubles me at all. Fighting Diva is annoying because it takes so bloody long. Doing a 4 hit combo, pause, 4 hit combo into grab, knee twice, grand upper cancelled into forward + a special only take off like 1/8th of her bar and that's a 30 hit combo

The weapons in this game are my biggest complaint. Apart from the clubs that stun lock enemies and using the knife with Blaze for juggles they put you at more of a disadvantage than just using your fists. Donovan swings the pipe much quicker that you do. They are probably more useful with Adam and Floyd due to the extra reach but as far as Axel / Blaze goes they get in the way more than anything. Stage 9 kickboxers i've had them take 5 hits with the mop (all blocked) then as you try to move away or move in for a grab, you get smashed.

It's a far cry from the best feeling of all time SoR2 pipe meet skull effect :( I hope they look into improving that sound effect with a patch or something

Mania is crazy I did the first level with Adam no problems and quickly noped out of stage 2 when I saw the entire police force turn up

This is... This is just brilliant, isn't it?

I'd given it a quick play when it came out, and went to give it another quick go last night, only to end up playing it non stop for nearly four hours. My hands hurt and my legs had gone numb, because I hadn't moved in all that time. Been a while since I've been like that with a game.

I love that there's so much more than just punch punch punch combos. I live the unlockables. I loved accidentally finding a Streets of Rage 2 stage.

Also, I would say that I'm really not bothered about fame music. Not one for soundtracks. But some of the music in this, especially on the later stages, is fucking brilliant.

Completed it in easy last night. Will be playing it through a good few more times, even just to unlock stuff.

Yeah I'm enjoying this too, sorry for the outburst this morning I shouldn't play games as soon I get up as I clearly don't have the patience or mood for it. Just did stage 8 I think, Y Tower is next, playing on normal and it is enough of a challenge for sure.

Just had my first experience with the riot shield cops on stage 2 and descended quickly into a "this is shit!" state of mind.

Just looked at a guide online of how to handle them with the defensive special when they attack and get back in there Bloodborne style to get the health back.

Firmly back to "this is brilliant!" :D

Edit : I would love to be able to recover when I get knocked up in the air, I'm sure a side scrolling brawler had that.

Trying to play online with randoms at higher difficulties and *everyone* seems to be using the old SoR 1/2 characters - are they just massively overpowered due to the super fast jab speed or something? I long to stumble upon a decent SoR4 character player to go with my Floyd...
