oh man, come on guys the gamecube is dying a slow and undignified death! at least sega had the balls to come out and tell everyone they were stopping the dreamcast, unlike nintendo, who think knocking out one or two first party games a year will keep it going! i work in a gameshop, and believe me the gulf between gc sales and xbox/ps2 is huge! its the same all over our town, hell, even our indy has stopped selling any new cube titles.

IN THE UK - not the rest of the world.

So did F-Zero GX. Does that mean that we can write off F-Zero now?

If you like. I never said F-Zero was a successful francise, I said Mario Kart and Zelda were. I did say that F-Zero was a good game however, and I'm certainly not saying that PGR2 isn't a good game.

Shall we split some more hairs or shall we get sensible?

I'm particularly interested in commentary about the 'Announced' list fresh from Nintendo.com. I'd imagine that some new names will be added to that list come E3.

No, let me rephrase that: Nintendo better pull their fucking finger out come E3.

Metroid motherfucking Prime.... *swoons*

I curse it at times, but it's unputdownable, even during its monotonous moments. And Eternal Darkness... the only game in the past year to have me up until the wee small hours playing it. Three times, right through. Magic.

Surely it's all down to the legacy of games the machine might leave behind.

The Saturn has classics in spades. Dreamcast has its fair share too.

The Gamecube has got what? Animal Crossing and Monkey Ball. Those are the only ones that spring to mind. Who'll be buying old Gamecubes in the future, so that they can play Quack Attack and Mario Party? Or Double Dash.

Or Wind Waker.

So no, I think Gamecube's legacy might just be as the single greatest pointer thus far to the fall of Nintendo.

Ooh!

Oh dear, oh dear.

Presumably if your avatar was in colour the shades would be rose-tinted?

There are perhaps at a push a dozen Saturn games over the whole of its library that could indesputably be described as classics. Half of that for the DC.

And that's over a rather longer time period than the GC's been out too.

But with corkers as Metroid Prime and Viewtiful Joe the Cube deserves to live.

Absolutely. But if the current clime persists, then what's the point? Nintendo appear distracted by the impending PSP, with good reason. But I can't help but feel a little disappointed in their lack of focus over the last year. As I say, hopefully they'll bail themselves out at E3.

OK. Upcoming for GC MGS, Pikmin 2 and Metroid Prime 2, these should be interesting, but they're sequels/remakes so...

How about Geist? Certainly has a lot of promise. Killer 7. Mario Tennis I'm hoping will be fun multiplayer larks. Nintendo Puzzle collection if released at a reasonable price ($20-30) is a must have. Plus Star Fox 2 could be ace. Early screenshots haven't impressed too much, but that's exactly what they are "early" screens.

I'm sure Nintendo will pull out some stuff we didn't see coming at E3. Fingers crossed for another Zelda game, on any platform - I don't care

Mario 128.

Nintendo's great red and blue hope.

Would be nice, except for a scream inducing rumour that it an N5 game now.

If I'm not leaping around the mushroom kingdom this generation people will pay. They will pay and they will pay again. And once they've paid I'll make them pay again.

It's all the boo-hooing and digging your heels in about the gamecube I don't understand.

It is a PRODUCT. A PRODUCT you PAID FOR.

It is, in my opinion, and in the opinion of many, a disappointing PRODUCT that failed to deliver.

Stop being such big babies and move on.

Oh! Nintendo can't die! No!

Why not? It's a COMPANY.

That is the end of my POST.

Alex W, take this avatar and shut your face.

Thanks.

No, wait! Your powers of deception have foiled me again, masked wonder!

Seriously, though, have the avatar, I like to think it brings together your iconic self-parodying photo and the Haribo brand. I just don't like people who try to denegrate topics by saying the whole forum is biased.
