I wouldn't rule out an EA game showing up during the Microsoft show.

You mean Battlefield's singleplayer? That's what has been confirmed in any case. Perhaps also a new trailer for Anthem that'll also showcase exclusive content on Xbox?

Yeah god forbid they consult with their community and ask them what kind of setup the actual audience prefers.

To be fair, if the people vote for something stupid it doesn't make that stupid thing any less stupid. See Brexit and Trump for example.

I really like Easy Allies, but by definition the footage is what you want to see more clearly during such a stream - the commentators' reactions are more than visible enough in a smaller window and what they are saying is more relevant to begin with. You want to actually be able to see what they're talking about, no? They are literally commentating on a visual medium, to then make the bit with the visual emphasis tiny and the bit with audio emphasis huge is ass-backwards no matter how you try to flip and defend it.

BUT at the end of the day it's their content and their decision. And I do think their reactions and comments are really entertaining :)

Easy Allies are a very passionate bunch as a whole, and between them they have optimists, pessimists and balanced moderators.

Also most people these days tend to second screen, with tablets and phones or multiple monitors.

Were Easy Allies the guys who were crying with joy, dancing on the tables and spunking all over themselves when Shenmue 3 was announced? Clearly there is an audience for that, but for me it's a huge FUCK NO.

The Giant Bomb 'old man pub' feel is far more my speed.

The Easy Allies stream had them as 70% of the screen and a little box for the conference video. It's preposterous. GB did it right. GB didn't shit on everything for likes either.

Easy Allies totally don’t shit on everything though, if anything they’re the optimist viewpoint with Giant Bomb being an older and grumpier voice.

...unless you mean the rllmuk threads just shitting on absolutely everything, then yes that’s correct.

Why do you even post here? All you ever seem to do is slag off this forum and it’s membership.

This is getting silly, worse than the 'my console is better than your console' arguments. People want to watch the streams in different ways and enjoy it the way they want to. We have nearly a page here having a pop at one set of streamers or another. Just watch what you like, post positive comments about your chosen format, and leave others to enjoy theirs.

Can tell my boys have been here for the weekend, I'm obviously in full Dad mode.

I caught the end of the Giant Bomb stream. It just looked like half a dozen boring mid 30s to 40s white blokes being boring.

It’s generally them asking questions that they would know the answer to if they didn’t talk over the stream.

Despite watching the press conference almost twice and trying to think of something funny or interesting to say about it all day, I got absolutely nothing - and isn't that the most telling comment of all?!

Probably not.

Sea of Solitude

That looked interesting, but the poor dev introducing it seemed terrified, and so it didn't come across in the best light. Looking forward to seeing more of that though, it was the one positive note in the presentation for me

I actually much preferred that presentation over everything else, she seemed like an actual human being. The Unravel guy was sweet, too. I like a bit of amateurishness. Humanises the buggers.

Yeah I’m with Stanshall on this one, I’d take slightly awkward but passionate over Andrew Wilson’s Bond villain/killer robot vibe.

May I just ask, what was the last really good e3 conference? Aren’t they all crap.

I haven't picked up a Nintendo console for a while but I think that the marathon BotW Treehouse was a big deal for fans. If that counts.

I would say Sony E3 '15 (Last Guardian, FFVII, Shenmue) but there wasn't really much to show there...

I am actually with you on this, I just think she looked terrified and struggled at the beginning. Don't want to knock these kinds of reveal as they are great to have. When you see someone like her, and the Unravel dev, who are obviously passionate about their project, it immediately raises my interest level. The exec talking about consumers/content/experiences, that just comes across as insincere bullshit. Which is blatantly is.
