Is this on Gamepass? I really enjoyed Origins, so I’m planning on what the okay after I’m done with Elden Ring.

No, I had to buy it. Was only £16 from CDKeys for the Gold edition.

Going to be an amazing weekend with it, thanks for the advice everyone!

Ok, so contrary to what I wrote there, I've no idea how to start the Atlantis DLC. I've finished the Heir quest, and it's open, but there's no more Atlantis quests. I figured one would just ding up eventually so I cleared up a few tales (A really, really bad day...) and still nothing. Am I missing something? Normally DLC kicks off just talking to someone.

I was enjoying this game when it first came out, then I hit a bit of a wall, with lots of quests being level-locked and just not having the inclination to grind for hours. I think they were pushing for players to buy XP on the store or something.

I have been thinking of returning to it though.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they patched that issue with XP.

I started a new game earlier and all of the DLC seemed to be selectable on the main menu rather than in the game itself. You just picked each one.

Couple of hours in and quite enjoying it, was a bit confused with the future story stuff at the start as I never really played the Egypt one. Was proper broken when I got it at launch so gave up. Am I missing a lot storywise?

It seemed to suggest at the start that I was to be given a load of Greek gear to wear but I couldn't find it at the home. Does it come later? I'm just in starter gear and there's nothing else to be seen.

I've never had a level issue, so I'm thinking that's fixed. Although I had it in the mode where the game levels work me, but it's generally only mercs who are ever ahead.

Unless you run directly from Kephallonia to Lakedonia or something. There was always an area my level that nudged me along.

OK thanks, that's reassuring. I'll definitely be giving it another go then.

Perfect time to be playing it as well.

It was updated to 60 FPS at the end of last year on both Xbox & Playstation & on top of that is just a summery kind of game with plenty of sunshine, beaches and lovely blue water all looking stunning on the next gen machines.

God this game is like a drug, can't stop playing! I keep visiting new islands and hoovering up the content and I've only visited a few. The world map is eye poppingly large and seems I can visit the lot at some point. The real world story stuff seems non existant and I'm having a whale of a time with the combat. Can't believe I never played it before.

Yeah I’ve downloaded it on the back of some of the positive comments in the thread after not clicking with any of the assassin’s creed games since 2. Really enjoying it at the minute, seems much brighter and lighter than origins which did not hold me for long at all. It’s lovely just jumping around and enjoying the views.

I'm hoping I get to drive bigger boats later, its tiny at the start. I want bigger! The ocean feels endless.

Some of the closeup textures are a bit pants but when you are up high and gazing off at the vast islands in full day sun its gorgeous. Few games make me take snapshots but I've grabbed loads as I've been going its that good. I'm only about 8 hours in 🤣

Origins > Odyssey

I haven't started Odyssey yet, but I am much, much more interested in Ancient Greece than Ancient Egypt, so Odyssey is already much more appealing before I even press start.

I found the Egyptian setting pretty dull in Origins though. I mean, it did look spectacular in many ways, but there was very little interesting about the architecture (I found the pyramids underwhelming), sand is just...sand and little bits of green dotted amongst all the yellow weren't enough to break it up for me. I didn't even bother with the DLC.

Oh I loved Bayek, but Greece just grabbed me more than Egypt. It's weird, at first I was so annoyed that the rocky, presumably volcanic Greek countryside was awful to traverse, but it grew on me and I just ran everywhere and have so much wood, iron and leather as a result that powering up the ship was a doddle.

I have a screenshot of a very specific mountain summit that I took. I don't want to spoil the view for Lorf as he'll find it eventually but holy shit. It's no exaggeration to say you can see most of the map from this vantage point. And when it dawns on you how much literal space that encompasses, it blows your goddamn mind.

Same. Odyssey while great the world felt very samey and lacked the distinctive architecture and towns that Egypt had. It also had a guy on a boat who’d show up to give you a ride whenever your started swimming anywhere which I definitely missed in Odyssey.

I presume that, like I did and I'm sure everyone else must have done, you at one point dangled off a giant, exquisitely sculpted penis?
