Doom Patrol

The Doom Patrol Twitter account posted a new season 2 trailer with lots of massively sped up footage and it looks like there will be some more awesome Grant Morrison baddies appearing.

Red Jack is definitely there and looking awesome, plus there's the suggestion that the Candlemaker storyline is in too.

Yes, it is as nuts as ever!

I was a bit disappointed at how little time was spent on Red Jack though. I appreciate the character development they're doing with the series, but in episode 3 we had a Larry & Rita flashback plot, a Cliff and his daughter plot, an inside Jane's head plot, a Dorothy plays hide and seek plot and a Vic gets/loses a girlfriend plot all running alongside the stuff with Miles and Red Jack, and I just wanted to see the crazy masked lunatic be all nutty for longer.

That glimpse of the Candlemaker in episode two though was glorious! Also, one of the upcoming episodes is called 'Sex Patrol' so I think we know who will be popping up in that one... Not sure that guarantees Shadowy Mister Evans though.

Similar to last week:

Like with Red Jack, they did Shadowy Mr Evans and the Sex Men, but briefly and in name only. I would rather they made up new characters to serve the plot rather than take the amazing comic book characters and gloss over them - Shadowy Mr Evans was nothing like the comics version other than some visual similarity. I still like the show though!

I do wish they’d stick it on Netflix or amazon or something. Tired of having to ‘acquire’ it.

It is on Amazon Prime in the UK, although on one of the channels that you have to pay extra for. You could probably subscribe for a month and binge it before cancelling though.

I do exactly this (it’s on the Starz channel), it’s well worth the £5 per season I’ve basically paid to watch it.

Just binged season 1 in a few days using Starzplay on Amazon Prime Video and it's totally fantastic. Easily the best of the recent 'fucked up super heroes' TV shows. (Including The Boys.)

For those of you sleeping on this you can get Starzplay at an introductory price of £1.99/m.

Roll on season 2 tomorrow!

The Great is well worth the price of admission to Starz Play along with Doom Patrol

But its also on C4. So once you’ve watched Veronica Mars and doom Patrol what else is there?

If you're okay with just mediocre, Pennyworth is on there. Probably a couple of fun movies on there too that aren't streaming on anything else (pot luck what they'll be now). But that was it.

I still haven't seen season 2 of Doom Patrol because I needed a breather and the trial ended first. Season 2 is on blu-ray now but it's still £32! I got the first one £10 on sale at xmas for my Dad, so I reckon I'll just wait until next xmas and then nick the season 2 I get him :)

Dead Boy Detectives Edwin Paine and Charles Rowland have been cast for the new season. Sebastian Croft and Ty Tennant. Croft was young Ned Stark in GoT and Tennant, son of David, was apparently in War of the Worlds (the Fox/French TV version) and Tolkien.

Isn’t Counterpart on there? I’ve only heard good things about that, and JK Simmons is usually all kinds of amazing. Cancelled after two seasons though, does it at least ‘conclude’ does anybody know?

Season 2 does have a good ending, there's no real cliff hanger.

Did David Tennant forget to finish his sons name?

Counterpart is was brilliant, damn shame it got canned.

It totally ends on a cliffhanger.

I know what you mean. Perhaps I should have said the ending is more of a Sopranos ending than a Breaking Bad ending.
