Has Chris Pratt ever actually said or done anything? I’d not heard that until you guys started mentioning it - is it just he goes to some church or is he a full on gay hating, abortion denying, trump supporting thundercunt?

He's never said anything in public (he's not that stupid) but he goes to a church renowned for being anti gay and providing gay conversion therapy. I don't care if you say you're pro LGBTQ+, if you're going to that church and giving them money you clearly feel the same too, even if you don't say it out loud.

I think he was whining on about the Church not being anti-LGBTQ, which is fucking ludricious. Of course it is. I think a stated reason for he and Anna Fais divorcing was that she wasn;t devout.

 

And he was posting up psalms associated with the prolife movement after his daughter was born, I think. This one:

 

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.

 

A bit queasy.

 

More generally, he's been seen in the likes of "Don't tread on me" shirts and the like, which is the style choice of the walking red flag.

 

So, a conglomerate of uneasiness, then.

I had read rumours about him being a pain on MCU sets too and bothering people, banging on about God and shit and handing out psalms to people. Could just be bullshit rumours though.

If I was in charge of this movie I would have made it more of a funny but charming indie movie with some unknown playing Charles Martinet who is forced to retire but can't let go. Nintendo have hired a new young star to take on Mario's voice and has to spend a week with Charles at his home during his last week working for Nintendo. They both start off on the wrong foot, with Charles over managing and following the new guy everywhere. The movie is about Charles letting go and passing on the torch to a new generation of Mario fans.

 

That's how I'd have gone about this movie.

Final line of the movie. Charles turns to our young protagonist, tears in his eyes and says slowly:

 

"It's-a you... Mario.'
