Yea, I’ve just slightly fallen foul of that by not saving at the closest save point to the third boss, and having to battle my way through half a map with only one tank of health and the pea shooter was a bit of an ordeal.

Is Resi 6 a decent £8-worth if I go in knowing full well it’s a cheesy action game set in the RE universe and not survival horror or anything like the others? Basically is it a bad RE or a bad game?

Dicey Dungeons is at an all time low of £1.34.

 

I've played the first three characters and it's fun yet relaxing. Not too challenging. Like a kindergarten Slay the Spire.

 

Recommended.

Wow, this is an enormous bargain for an absolutely superb game. I wrote things about it in the Games You Completed 2022 thread here: 

Have since played a bunch of the (free) DLC and that's magnificent too. If you like rogue-stuff and/or puzzles it's a must-have at that price.

I really enjoyed what I played of it, which was up to the car chase with the giant so no idea how far in that is really.

 

But regardless of the campaign, it’s worth £8 for Mercs!

Holy crap, £2.52, you’re not kidding! They are old games, but the Metacritic reviews do note some performance issues. 
 

It’s a similar price on the PlayStation store, and available on Gamepass if either of those are options.

With Dicey Dungeons I can get my head around all the characters except the Witch. Something about the spellbook makes life hard. Using a die up just to cast a spell is wasteful. Any tips from those who've played it?

It's incredible and totally stupid. There are a few fans of the game on the forum, myself included. 

There's also a fair few people who hate it, but I'd assume they completely didn't get the touch-in-cheek daftness of it all, but maybe played the game properly and not just for 5 minutes then uninstalled it, or... I'm sure that's the case, and it's not the case that posters on rllmuk drop games as soon as one little thing causes friction... as seen in the likes of the Gamepass thread or in the "how often do you finish games" thread. I'm sure that's not the case.

Well, I gave it about an hour. I don't drop games all that often. 

 

Something about the mix of pinball and roguelite elements just seemed like a recipe for frustration to me.

I wanted to love Pinball Wizard, but the insistence on using round rooms made it all too easy to just keep smacking the ball around the perimeter, making it a chore to hit the targets.

I played Pinball Wizard loads, but after a couple of levels it just doesn’t really work, and becomes very tedious.
