1 is a really pretty trad JRPG with turn based combat and owes a lot to Pokémon.

 

2 is an ARPG with a kingdom building sideline.

 

They’re both good but very different games

The original Switch release was not the remastered version though, just a straight port. But I see on the eshop it now says remastered.US site doesn't say remastered so I think its a mistake on the UK site maybe? Still a bargain though, great game.

I'm not sure if they added anything to the PS4 version other than higher resolution graphics and 60FPS?

Don't think they did but its still weird that its listed as the remastered one.

Thank you to those who recommended Boomerang Fu - I bought it a few days ago and it’s been a big hit. Kids love it, and we had great fun earlier playing teams - kids vs parents (they beat us… I blame annoying stick drift!)

The Mummy Demastered is on sale for £7 at the moment. Seems very promising so far! I look forward to playing more, and perhaps adding it to my list of best Metroidvanias on Switch, which at the moment includes Metroid Dread, Hollow Knight, Blasphemous and Axiom Verge.

If you like Metroid as opposed to Castlevania then it might be ok. I hated it.

Had this on my watch list for ages waiting for a sale. Heard it can get incredibly difficult in places but I’m  happy to take a punt for £7 based on the lovely 2D graphics.

I’ve played up to the second boss so far, and while the maps are pretty straightforward in their layouts, I’m very happy to report that it’s very good so far. 
 

The way the player character revives after death is very amusing.

I loved Mummy Demastered on PS4. A well judged Metroidvania with the emphasis on the first half of that combination. The death mechanic got punishing later on though and I can't remember whether I got all the trophies in the end. Far better than a game based on that terrible film had any right to be.
