Ultimate Alliance 3 is a fun enough button mashy brawler but the difficulty is indeed wildly imbalanced, it's too frustrating at points. Better to go with one of the Hyrule or Fire Emblem Warriors games for that type of slightly mindless fun.

Does it not have a load of fun Marvel trivia with a load of deep cut costume/character unlocks?

The costume unlocking is grindy as fuck. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing depending on your preference but it's to a level which eventually killed my motivation to play it.

Pfffft.

Hard to make a call on this one. It’s always had big 7/10 energy that I would either love or hate. Hence waiting so long for it to be on sale.

I do love the idea it’s set in the comics world. I think I’ll need to just go for it. I managed to have fun with Jedi Power Battles all those years ago after all.

I love the Jupiter Picross games but am getting a bit weary of them after rinsing up to S6. Are any of the lesser ones worth a few quid? I especially enjoy the colour Jupiter puzzles which you never get enough of so more like that would be ideal.

There are a handful of Neo Geo games with 50% off at the moment. I bought Big Tournament Golf (aka Neo Turf Masters) for about £3. From memory there was also Metal Slug 5, King of the Monsters, Shock Troopers and some fighting games and a shmup.

Thanks for this. I picked up turf masters as well. It’s been years but still a good game of golf, as long as I never try to hit over a tree, which are all apparently giant redwoods.

Any ideas for a split screen FPS that is kid friendly?  They’ve rinsed Hypercharged to death so need something similar.

Immortal Redneck looks ideal but no split screen - what a bummer.  Actually it’s rated 16 so maybe not - they are 7 and 11.

Screencheat Unplugged - looks good if I can get past the whole premise..

I stuck it in the appropriate thread, but the pre-order for Splatoon 3 is up on the eShop so you can download for Day 1.

There's also a pre-order for a free download for the special launch Splatfest, with a 7-day Online trial, so anyone can give it a go.

After searching for something the kids could really get into, I came across Boomerang Fu.
It’s a multi player, single screen game, not sure what genre you’d put it in exactly but they are all over it. Play it every morning now.
The free demo is all you need tbh but I ended getting the full game for the various extras.
Sensational music too.

Yeah Boomerang Fu is great. We play it with the kids all the time. The demo is really generous.

The sales seem pretty dire recently....I have loads in my wish list but next to none of them seem to feature in any of the sales even though some are a couple of years old now.

Probably saving it for the October and November sales. Is there anything specifically you're after?

if you mean the arcade archives, yeah I've noticed they've been kinda forgotten in the sales. hopefully they'll do something for black friday or the new year.

The arcade archive games are cheap to begin with but as apart from a select few that I have cherished memories of many will be a punt that results in a few play throughs at best I do tend wait for those to be on sale.

The other one I am quite keen to get is fight n rage which I criminally overlooked in previous sales due to the 'amateur looking' title icon, have subsequently seen many a youtube vid deservedly praising it but waiting for it to go back on sale at some point.
