Back on Lumines, and now can't stop playing Lumines. Damn it's still so great even through I am bobbins at it m8.

I’ve bought this game so many times, since first getting it with my (Canadian) launch PSP.

I currently own it on X360, PS3/4 (can’t remember which), Steam and Switch. The fact the new version (switch and steam) has the original soundtrack makes it the ultimate version imo. Yet 15+ years on I’m still terrible at the game 😂

Lumines is one of those rare titles where the soundtrack (from the original release) is perfect, despite not being from a genre I normally listen to. I’d definitely buy it on vinyl if it was available. See also Rez, Ridge Racers PSP, Shattered and Child of Eden.

The issue with the Lumines OST release is the lack of “Shinin’” which I assume is a licensing issue as it wasn’t included in the X360 version of the game.

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but:

It may well be available second hand, of course!

(Rez and, I believe, Shattered also have received record releases in the past)

Tempest 4000 just dropped to a tenner* , its first drop so I know some will hold out for the big drops but thought it might help someone!

* ok £10.72

That's less than a tenner if you get your eShop credit from Nintendolife with the code NLIFE10 :)

I loved the first two OlliOlli games but World didn't click for me.

Part of it was the aesthetic; I just plain prefer how it looked previously and I'm not sure the more rounded, wibbly-wobbly style helps you judge landings. And the chatting bits are absolutely woeful.

But there was definitely something missing in the game for me too. Or maybe it's the opposite and there's just too much. I never felt like I had a grip on all the various mechanics and features like I did in the original pair.

I'm literally the only person I've seen with this take so please do ignore me entirely.

Cadence of Hyrule has finally come back round in sale. Not sure if the base game for £15 is the better option, or with the DLC for about £24. What's the extra stuff like?

And how much does the physical release usually go for?

EDIT - Seems like it's £18 at the Game Collection with the DLC included. Is it just a code in a box or a cart?

I was pretty sure it was just a code so opened the sealed copy I bought a LONG time ago to check and no, there's a cart on there. I ought to play it really.

Nintendo actually sent me an email stating that four of the games on my Wish List are on sale. It’s how I thought the Wish List function was supposed to work. It’s a first. I’ll ignore the fact that the email only listed three games as opposed to the four in the heading. I’m amazed.

Seven of mine are.

I got no such email.

Completely forgot we were still waiting on something this month. I’ll probably spend as much time with it as I did when emulating when it came out, which is to say not complete a single level. But it’ll be nice to talk me down from the ledge if I’m ever tempted to buy the modern one.

I've tried googling for the answer but I can only find this for 1 year subs. If I stack 3 years of NSO family membership then upgrade to the expansion pack, will it upgrade me for 1 or 3 years? If I want to stack 3 years of NSO family expansion pack, what's the cheapest way to do that?

Can anyone help with this? I'm not really sure what order I'm supposed to do this in.

I can't help with your exact query, but I'm fairly sure that when I bought the expansion pack, it didn't "upgrade" my existing family sub, it effectively cancelled it, then deducted a proportionate number of points (based on time remaining) off the cost of the new sub.

Why announce this? It’s just not a good game. There are shit loads of 9/10s that are missing from the service, add them first ffs.

WWF No Mercy next please. Or Waverace. Or Excitebike. Or International Superstar Soccer.

It’s Pokémon, it sells more, suppose that’s all they’re thinking of.

Was it limited to one year when you changed over? If I can't stack I won't worry about it, it's just that there are some decent deals on 12 month family subs that I wanna take advantage of.

I'd buy a 1 year sub, upgrade it, then try to extend it further - if the process appears to allow that then you could buy additional 1 year subs and upgrade them without risk.

It's unclear what happens if your existing online family membership value (calculated as days remaining * £0.08) exceeds £59.99. The excess must either become normal Nintendo credit, or some unique type of subscription credit. The latter sounds less likely.
