I think one is a port of the phone game and one is of an old version of he proper pc game. Confusingly though it's the one which is currently cheap as chips called pocket edition which is the full fat game. That's as far as I can tell anyway.

I played an earlier year version of the PC version, oddly compelling.

Yeah the PC version is quite soothing to play. I bought CMS last time I saw it and it turned out to be absolute garbage. If pocket edition is more like the actual game I'll get that, cheers man.

Blasphemous is £11.99 in the sale.

I don’t like Souls games but love Castlevania and the demo completely sold it to me.

Dead Cells is also on sale but no demo. Blasphemous looked more Vania-like.

Dead Cells is excellent, but more rogue-like.

Yes both Dead Cells and Blasphemous are great but apart from being 2D sidescrolling exploration games they are quite different. The pace is the biggest factor: Dead Cells is fast and frenetic, whereas Blasphemous is slow and deliberate.

Dead Cells is more Rogue and Blasphemous is more Castlevania.

Of the two I slightly prefer Dead Cells personally.

Is it any good - I'd heard it was not the best conversion- something about input lag iirc?

I know it's only 89p but...

It's not a game that reacts to all your inputs immediately anyway, which makes it hard to know if there's any lag. But I've played through to Conrad getting to Earth and haven't noticed any issues. I have noticed that in a blind panic you'll end up jumping into a pit when you meant to get your weapon out, but that's all authentic to the original experience!

Edit: Oh I did choose to play through in original rather than the "improved" version, which looked awful to me. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Probably the game I'm most looking forward to this year. So much variety and it looks like some house rules options too? A few Wii Play games in there and the bowling looks to be Wii Bowling.

I heard it also supports local multiplayer across various Switch consoles using a single cart too, like the DS version. Is that true? It would be nice if the cute PictoChat messaging/sketching made it in too but I guess it's unikely.

Was going to pick up Picross S3 (prior to the sale end on the 30th), but wondered if I should just jump to S4 instead? Is there much Quality of Life improvements on S4 over S3?
Not played much of Nonograms styles games, but currently loving Murder by Numbers.

Know, once I get addicted I might be purchase all of them, but wanted to check if S3 is fine or the improvements of S4 is worthwhile is it mainly just more of the same styles and not really justified for a newcomer to start with.
Did read S3 is supposed to be more beginner friendly than the newest release which is more for a experienced player as its more challenging.. Had a quick go on the demo for S4 and did seem nice.

S3 is great and will keep you busy for ages if you do everything.

I'm really looking forward to 51 WorldWide Games but I hope online supports multiple players on each console (for appropriate games). WiiU bowling was ruined by the lack of that option. My wife and I are in one house and my daughter and her boyfriend live in Newcastle. We couldn't get a 4 player game going. Same with Everybody's Golf I think.

It's the Ninjala beta today - anyone going to be giving it a try?

I tried to get in to the 1200 session yesterday. It was broken until about 1255, and I managed to get as far as accepting the privacy policy before the servers were turned off again.

It looks like it could be fun, but not a good first impression :)

be interested to see the reviews of Levelhead, looks like a solid £15 MarioMaker ripoff.

option to pay £7 for an phone version, but never know how people play precise 2d platforms on touch controls, so seems like you have to pay double to get the playable version with the option of buttons.

Got Levelhead for review. Whilst at first it looks like a shameless Mario Maker clone, it is really rather good. The editing tools seem to be rather robust. Best of all, it is cross-platform and corss-save on Xbox, Epic, Switch, Steam, Android, and iOS, with levels shareable across all of them too.

Got to play more but early impressions are good.

Yep.

It is fully cross-platform for one. I reviewed it for Switch and whilst it lacks a little bit of the budget of Mario Maker, it is still really good and the cross-platform sharing and saving is exceptional.

Just tried the demo for Death Squared, great co-op game, was really enjoyable. Checked and annoyed with myself, seen that I just missed it being in the same, was £1.79, now back up to £11.99.

Shame

It's definitely worth it at a sale price. Me and my non-gaming mrs loved it until level 76 or so. Then it just got frustrating.
