Once the download starts the right to cancel is lost if I remember right. I did get a refund for Pillars of Eternity but it took a bit of work, and a tweet from the devs acknowledging a bug that prevented progress.

Which version?

Microsoft have come a long way.

Never had an issue with Microsoft at all during the years I've been using them TBH or Sony for that matter. Steam is great too got a no quibble refund the other day.

Never had to deal with Nintendo customer support yet though.....

@mdn2 How's Spider Solitaire? The eshop write up mentions touch screen control but the videos I've seen show people tapping the cards to no effect. Maybe there was a patch?

Can't vouch for Spider but the Klondike one that's published (and I'd imagine developed by the same guys, they certainly look the same) does indeed have touch controls when a couple of the reviews that I'd read said that it didn't. As for the the game itself (again Klondike) it's ok but the card mechanics (in touch) are a little clunky for my liking.

So here’s a weird thing - I bought Trivial Pursuit to play online with friends for some lockdown lols and when I try to take it online it causes my internet router to reset.

It’s the most bizarre thing I’ve ever seen. Do yourself a favour and give this turd a wide berth.

Turn upnp off on your router?

Guess what? There actually IS a good game inside Rise: Race the Future but by fucking christ they don't half make you work for it. In the end I put both sliders on the cars to half and then just adjust them slightly to preference. And yeah, once you 'get' it it's pretty good.

This did work. I’d love to know why - amazingly, Ubisoft’s own support page recommends enabling upnpn to fix networking issues.

One or the other isn’t doing upnp correctly. If it’s a cheap (or ISP supplies) router, I’d blame that.

I am buying that now!

Edit, I don't know why they don't make more of a deal about extras like this.

All the Switch Sega Ages have stuff like that, M2 are gigantic nerds.

I’ve been playing Rune Factory 4 between AC sessions and it’s absolutely brilliant, a perfect mix of a thousand different games in one, and the levelling? Oh boy the levelling, literally every single thing you do will be levelling something up, sleeping at the end of each day? Levels up the sleeping skill, bathing? Levels the bathing skill, everything you do is working towards little mini wins in between levelling up, and let’s talk levelling up, I’ve probably been playing for possibly 12 hours and I’m level 51, the level cap is 50,000 (lol) this game is a grinders dream,

And what I love is you don’t HAVE to be doing anything, sure there’s a story to follow but what you do each day is totally up to you and you can pace yourself as much as you like. I spent about 5 in game days dungeon crawling for items needed for new weapons and let my farm become a mess, so I then spent a couple of days tending to my farm, until I befriended a monster (a cow) and I’ve now got the cow working on my farm for me.......it’s brilliant,

Ive never been a huge fan of relationship building in games, by giving gifts etc but in this it’s actually really worth while, get any of the characters to over level 3 relationship with you and you can bring them with you to help fight bosses etc. And if you’re so inclined you can propose and marry other characters, not my cup of tea but I’m sure some people will like it.

TL/DR - Rune Factory 4 is excellent, it’s a level grinders perfect game, it’s an absolute jack of all trades and a master of just about all of them, CovisGod rating 8.5/10

I bought the cart of this about 3 weeks before AC:NH came out and it's still sat in its wrapper. Not sure I can handle both at once in that when I break from AC I really need to be playing something different altogether. Glad to know it's good though, look forward to getting stuck in at some point.

Yeah I messed around with the sliders a bit and got it feeling more like I remembered the handling feeling in the Steam version.  I can't believe they don't have a "set to default" option that locks those sliders to what the settings were in the original pre-patch/pre-broken version.

We already know it's good, people on this forum literally went to jail to play it early.

I would implore anybody with a passing interest in running and gunning to pick up Blazing Chrome while it's still on sale. I think it would have been one of my top 5 games of 2019 had I played it last year, absolutely superb.

How difficult is it? I had to quit Celeste due to my pathetic, aged reflexes.

On a similar note I'm absolutely loving Valfaris. It's a heavy metal mosh pit of Contra and old school (pre-symphony) Castlevania with a touch of Doom 2016. Keeps the variety of weapons and enemies up at a great pace and the graphics and music are awesome. It's hard as fuck but thrilling.

Iirc about 13 quid in the sale, worth it.

Picked up Flinthook a few days ago when it was on sale (sorry, it's full price again now) and I think it may be my favourite action rogue-like ever.

It's hard as all hell but so far the difficulty rarely spikes to the point where it creates an insurmountable roadblock. The upgrade system is nicely done, even a bad run will move you closer to getting an upgrade of some sorts.

And the movement is dynamic and fluid, it's so much fun. Launching yourself across the screen, slow-mo-ing to dodge between two bullets and blast a sea-dog twice between the eyes as you sail past is glorious.

The only problem (other than the fact that it's bastard hard, haven't even done the first boss yet) is that it's the first game to make me think that I may need a pro controller. There are times when I really need to hold L & ZL togther at the same time and that's just a bit too fiddly on the joycons.

Other than that, Flinthook is amazing.
