I’d like to play RE4 again.

It it may be an unpopular opinion, but I’m not sure I could stomach the controls again though.

I’d pay £30 for RE4 with BOTW’s control scheme in a flash...

Anyone thinking of picking up Guacamalee Turbo in the switch sales it's free on steam until the 23.  Of course you need a pc for that so if you want portable than switch is the way to go still. Just thought I'd try to save a few ££!

I already had the Steam version but got it in the eShop sale. I've no shame nor issues getting it a second time for the privilege of handheld gaming.

How much is it @watusi? Worth the price?

£8.99. I’d say so. It’s not a new game so plenty reviews out there. It is pretty much Turrican with optional twin stick controls.

Quick question:  I've set up a Japanese account to play Virtua Racing.  Can I make the Eshop display in english, and do I need to pay by japanese pre-paid card?

No, it's only in Japanese.

Yes, you can only pay by Japanese eShop credit at the moment - you enter the code via the bottom option of the eShop menu, from memory.

PlayAsia and SeaGM are reliable and fast with digital codes. There are other, slightly cheaper options for codes but my experience is that they can take up to 24h to send codes or are simply unreliable.

Thank you. Got it from play Asia. Cost 9 quid.  Holy crap its incredible. What a conversion!

I assume I can't play online? The Japanese account doesn't have membership and my UK account can't find any online rooms.

If you start a game bought in a different region with your 'home' account (with Online), you can play online. I suspect it's partly time of day and partly a small player base :(

Still, killer port, isn't it!

Absolutely brilliant.  I'm thinking , forget the next gen, just use the current gen to play unbelievably perfect versions of the previous gens.

It's so cool that Sega used the extra power to make it widescreen, extend the draw distance all the way out and lock the framerate to 60fps, it's the perfect thing to do with an old racing game, as some of those are things you can't do much about via emulation.

I wish Namco (lol) would do that with Ridge Racer Type 4, this is about as good as I can get it  via emulation (fixing the PS1 texture warping makes it feel much more "solid"), but the 30fps and pop-in can't be helped:

There's something about these old racing games - I just spent an hour on Virtua Racing and remembered every curve of every track.  Last time I played it was in the arcades and I spent some time with the 32X version back in the day.  But it's all still up there in my brain.  The angles are perfect, the handling of the car is perfect.  Seriously - take any Forza, Gran Turismo, whatever, and try and run through the track from memory.  These games may have only had limited tracks (Ridge Racer only had one!) but that track is perfect in every way.

The Wii version made you feel like such a badass.

It probably was easier (hi smitty) but it was also better.

It's bleak to my eye as well. Slim pickings this week after the mega-sale last I suppose.

FIFA 19 at under £20 I guess if that's your thing (it's not mine). Maybe Flashback at under a tenner? Or Typoman is decent enough for under a fiver.

What's heroine anthem zero like? It looks quite good in the trailer but then also looks like a mobile phone game which puts me off.

Mystery of Woolley Mountain is decent if you're an 80s geek and like point and click adventure games.

Oh it finally has a date?!

I gathered from that write up and the review of the PS4 version in todays Metro that it may be a big deal to people, I'd never heard of it but its the sort of thing I quite like on my phone for work loo breaks so willl give it a go as bound to be better on Switch (which never goes to the loo with me).
